Hi All,I have completed my Masters in Industrial Designing from School of Planning and Architecture from the outgoing batch, seuring 89 per cent in my thesis. Before that, I did my B Arch from Nagpur University. In between, I worked for about two years in a known architectural firm and started my own studio. I did jobs of construction, landscaping, interiors and conservation.
The field of industrial designing, or as we call it, product designing is very new in India. There are only three-four reputed institute awarding masters, none bachelor level course.
It is an inter-disciplinary, versatile job and has in huge demand abroad. Even in big companies, the idea of an industrial designer is alien to them. Of course, thir perception is changing with the growing awareness the world over.
Some software and product manufacturing companies are placing the product designers as User Interface Designer or ergonomic designer. However, its a part of the job of an I Des.
I have aptitude in 3-D softwares, AutoCad Photoshop etc, relevant to my requirements.
If anyone has more idea of the application of my course in India, I will appreciate the communication.
