i would like to touch upon the job opportunities in united nationa org in the succeeding paragraphs:-
1) First of all, you should be willing to be posted anywhere in the world.
2) The chances are, in all probability u'll be posted to any of the countries where UN Missions are underway( the list of all the 17 missions, as on date, can be obtained from the UN Site).
3) Now, coming to the employtment:-
(a) There are two types of jobs with UN:
(i) Civil section.
(ii) Military components.
(b) Coming to what is relevant to most of the readers i.e.
Civil Section:-
(i) Anybody can volunteer to join the UN.
of these can be completed in merely a couple of hours online itself.
(iii) Initial level is that of a "Volunteer"..about $2200 pm
(Rs >90,000).
(iv) Thereafter, there are various levels like P1,P2,P3 so on..
(v) Apart from this UN leave policy is quite flexible making it easier to stay in touch with the family.
(vi) Transport for all UN employees is provided by UN and is world
class everywhere.
(vii) Promotions are directly proportional to the efforts put in and
there's not much of work pressure per se.
(viii) After breaking it into the Ps levels life hunky dory.
(ix) Various other perks are an integral part of the job contract
(renewable) starting from the volunteers itself.
