Job Description :
Monitoring & handling Backup Failures : 24x7 Proactive monitoring of backups through Netbackup Java Console.
Manual Monitoring for Arcserve.
Restarting backup failures.
Creating tickets for backup failures as a part of escalation of Incident.
Escalation of repeated failures as a part of notification to appropriate group.
Checking Device status/Daily health check and escalate failures where appropriate.
Handling Slow Backups and hung Backups.
Handling database (exchange / SAP / SQL / Oracle) backups. Tickets Handling for Restorations, Decommission & other requests : Restorations of the files, folders and some databases as per request from clients.
Follow ups on existing issues from clients, and make sure issue resolve within defined SLA.
Client decommissioning from the backup environment.
Escalations with related team for unresolved restores.
Unschedule backup Requests to make sure that we have backup before making any change on server.
Queue Monitoring for Remedy and USD. DSR Handling : Representation and participation in Daily Service Reviews (DSR).
Representation and Participation in Service Restoration Team (SRT), Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
TIG No Activity Report.
Attending DSR Bridge/ Attending Technical Bridge – CWT. Monitoring Documentation and Reporting Services : Reporting through TIG for failures and updating the ticket database.
Manual reporting for Arcserve / Backup exec - producing DSR report.
Sending Weekly report for notifying the slow backups effecting environment.
Produce and maintain knowledge base documentation.
Monthly Service Assurance Reporting for the tickets.
Monthly, Weekly and Audit reports as and when required. Media Management : Recalling tapes from offsite and coordinating with vendor to deliver it onsite.
Notification of loading and unloading of backup media.
Tape Loading / Unloading( Need help from FS).

Excellent troubleshooting skills 4. Should have expertise in backup products 5. Should have worked with Windows Resource Kit & Support tools. 6. Expertise in WINS, DNS, DHCP & TCP/IP protocol suite and command line utilities 7. Scripting knowledge such as VB Scripts, KIX etc will be an added advantage 8.
