Every one is welcome in this discussion.

:)

good topic

One very simple thing about Dr Kalam tenure was it was giving us a feeling that we have one person in the whole system who did not had political bias, and above over all it was giving us a sense of respect being Indian whose president was highly qualified and capable personality. Hope vision 2020 continues.

Yes Satish
This is a great time for india and india to have a such wonderfull personality as our president. We wish and pray our coming presidens and PM work towards this vision.

god bless india and indians

It is good to be proud of your country. If corruption and economic divide is solved, perhaps one would even be prouder!

I feel that its end of vision 2020 ... it may be redefined as vision 2040!!! I don't think we have a able leader to motivate Indians to achieve vision 2020. We will achieve goals mentioned in vision statement but I am little skeptic about the year 2020.

No doubt that President Kalam was very popular president but in politics nobody can be more popular than politicians.

Well I won´t say much abt the tenure of the president.....but i would like to share one of my experience....
I was suppose to attend a conference on motivating youth towards sciences....and in the program there was a speech by president for abt an hr. Before his talk I was all the time thinking about the theme ....Do we really need to motivate youth towards science when we are not in a position to offer jobs to the people who are already into sciences. Are we jusitifed talking about the bright prospects of the science and technology when i can see good number of well educated people still searching for stabilty instead of working on the area they would have devoted their entire life for...
With so many queries knocking my brain all the time...i was waiting for his speech at vigyan bhawan..... wondering.... wat would he say to justify the subject of the day....
Finally, he was their and i was amazed to see the reaction of those school kids.... wat is it which is making all those school kids crazy at his presence?? I could see some sense of pride on their faces....
He gave a very simple speech but the atmosphere was electrifying..... I am sure each individual in the auditorium might have felt as if the president was just talking to him. I do not know where did all my queries vanished. Now I was thinking of the motto, of the vision which he projected and I could feel that their is something for each and every individual to contribute. He mentioned neither any kind of achivements nor the fantasy dreams. One can sense the responsibilty each one of has have towards the nation, you can feel the dreams, the desire and possibilty to make it a reality. Now I could understand the reason behind the smiles on the face of those school kids. Someone has rightly said kids have the purest soul and enormous energy to make things possible which we ´so called´ practical and realistic grown ups leave with a tag of impossible.
Such was the impact of his speech.... One not only feel proud to be indian but also filled with a desire to fullfill the social responsibility which each individual have towards the nation.

Hello Dr Shashi Verma
Thankx for sharing your exp. about our best president's speech.
Keep it up and wish you a very happy independece day.
Regards

I guess there is a distinction need to be observed about the president. He was first an academician and a scientist, then a president. His achievements in his 'original' profession led him to become a president, which is well deserved. We respect him for his work more as a scientist than a president. Of course he is a big inspiration for all of us who are the next generation of the country, to be able to do something worthwhile for the country. I respect him a lot, and with all convictions to be to contribute in my own ways, nevertheless, his political leadership would need bit more testing
