Deserve Appreciation!!

Bhai Sahab,

Given the number of responses your thread attracted (despite the fact that a lot of time and attention are required to go through it) it can be safely presumed that you are bound to become a successful folk playwright. I know about the time constraints but keep these things up!!

I particularly liked the setting of the scene of this short play. You may like to add some more stuff to draw attention to other faces of rural Haryanavi day to day life like playing cards, a scene at the 'bus adda' or 'sharab ka theka'. That will make it lengthy enough for audio/video recording but non-suitable enough to be posted at jatland. Any idea of getting audio/video recorded?

On the contrary, Ramphal Bhai, frankly speaking, I am not very happy with the responses or the viewership. Any member clicks the thread, reads it for half-a-minutes or so and then leaves – and the numerical figure in the relevant column shows it having read by --- persons ! In my view, hardly 100 members must have read it fully. The only satisfying fact is that many non-members read the material as 'guests' - I have myself seen 'guests' reading this thread when I am watching the page 'Who's online'. Many members have a poor record in so far as reading Devanagari script is concerned – this is very true of our technocrats and Convent–educated graduates who actually hate written form of Hindi. Compare it with the viewership of threads like Loves me Loves me not in this very forum. Human psychology is similar – be they Jats or non-Jats and everyone clicks any thread which is named attractive. Another glaring example is thread Your Say: To kiss or not to kiss – see the results ! I would rather compliment Deepak Sejwal to have started this thread – at least members are visiting the site to see such masalaa on the site – be it a Jat taste or looking like a Western one.

Regarding second paragraph, I am not interested in writing themes like ‘Sharab ka thekka’. These kind of scenes can be seen in Bollywood films and elsewhere. Jatland site should contain Jat culture. There is no dearth of websites where one can find stuff like ‘love’, Valentine Day’ or so on. And very truly pointed out - audio/ video recording. Today’s generation likes only audio or video, no written form of literature– and I am not at all interested in audio or video. This should better be left to those who have the art of commercialization of a site through ads etc. I would rather be happy to donate such a material to a newspaper in India where some villagers can read it. S.C. Sheorayan had once hinted a idea of getting the material from this site printed and distributing in villages where Internet is not accessible. See his post That is an excellent Idea.

Frankly, I do not see much ‘Jat’ material on the site, except Jat members - and am giving a second thought of saying good-bye to this site after completing my task of updating the Haryanavi Dictionary !

Kyun chho mei aa ge Deswal ji....sab chalta rehga nyu hein...lagge raho.

Deswal Ji....aap to ghaney sentimental hogey kimme. Its a reader's choice what to pick and read and we cant impose our threads on readers. Jyada kahaney ki jarut na jibb balkan nai haryanvi Bolni na aati tai Padhni kyukar aavegi....sab kimme Modern honn mai laag rya sai. Jyadatar members nai membership to leli par janu shyan sa tek diya iss site pai baat karein sain....To kiss or Not to Kiss at public places ki....Iss mai aap ki ke galti....iss me kum comments aaney ki wajah se jo log aap ke koshish ko sarhatey hain wo kyun mehroom rahein? Ye to aap theek nyaye na karogey mere jissey pai jisney 2 baar padh liya yo Kissa-e-Mahem Chaubissi....Jo log apni Jat Sanskriti ke firm ground se judey huay hain wo jarur padheingey aisi post ko aur jo Adhar mai uthrey sain wey na to dharti ke na akash ke....:)

.
I agree with Sunita's post - I have already commented that most of the members have actually lost grip on our mother-tongue, what to speak of writing ! And accessibility of Internet in our areas is not so widespread. It is the question of readership which matters, not number of comments received. My point is that this site should contain exclusive material relating to Jat culture, not just Jat membership. If it is in my control, I would like to delete all material relating to Valentine Day etc. One good factor is that this site is open to all, so far as reading is concerned. Many 'guests' read the material without logging in.

A similar piece named "Dharti ke Laal" would appear after some time.

Next play

.
Please see my post above wherein I had stated that I would post my next play shortly. I have today received two e-mails about my new play. Some of us do not go through the entire page and send mails. This is just to inform that my play Dharti ke Lal has been posted two days back and is available in this very forum ('General Talk').

Bhai Dayanand, aapke haath main fazal sai. Bahut chupke se sandesh sarka dete ho hamare man mein, jyukar darwaje talle chithee. Jaisa ke maine pehle bhi likha hai, aap jaise prabudh haryanvi hi matrbhumi ki laaj bachaoge...baaki andi-shandi to bechan mein lag rahe sain ya mauj masti mein behosh hain.

Prabhu aapki kalam aur kalaam ko shakti pradan kare!

Excellent

Dear Deswal Sahab,
Thank a lot for coming to AJA's NJ Chapter's Diwali celebration function yesterday. We really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule and making to the function. We also thank Chanderbhan Arya sahab for the same.
It is a pleasure reading these short plays. They reflect true picture of our villages and reminds me of my time in the village, when as a student, I was the favorite of all older people for lighting their HUKKA. I remember I used to change the water as also to shine the Brass pot that is used. This was a little extra than what other kids used to do and probably that made me their favorite.
It was a lot of knowledge about the life that they discussed. Some times their talks looked a bit, indifferent, but they did discuss almost every thing on earth.
Probably this website has now become a Chaupal of the past, after all it is the technological advancement and we do have a chaupal on the net.
Once again thanks a lot for posting such nice playes. We look forward for some more.

Deshwal Ji,

Bahoot badhiya jankari dee hai aapne isme. Ye saare instances, words etc. bilkul real laage sain.

I found these thread so much interested that I have got this thread reopened. Please add some more stuff.

Thanks,
Satpal
