kit si seh 'kilki taul aale'

To be part of any culture you have to relate with it .I always admired the generosity of Sikh ppl and their fun loving nature.luckily I met a Sikh family who used to live in our neghborhood. I organized giddha team for them and they helped with other stuff.I chose the song and done the choreography.from that point I become part of their group .I never wore dupatta on my head but started wearing it that way on some nonsikh gatherings.it's not for once I have embraced Sikh culture for the rest of my life.my day starts with satnam wahe guru sung by late jagjit sing ji .you have to be passionate about something to be part of it.

I think I shall live my life on my own terms .

Thanks for taking out time to tell about yourself though.

"Kilki Taull" is Haryanvi version of "Laughter after taking toll (of the shareef members of JL in the instant case)" vide - page 566 of Britannica encyclopaedia, I think. According to some historians, a few Haryanvi 'Mashkharas' inspired by Charlie Chaplin formed a group named "laughter group" which later came to be known as "Kilki Taull" as the members used to laugh very loud on their phenomenal success in making fun of; and demoralizing the "shareef" members, new comers and ladies on Jatland. It was a compact group, members of which had vowed not to differ with each other in their agenda of antics. Most of the stalwarts have gone into hibernation. It is appreciable that some new members are now sincerely trying to revive the lost notoriety of the group. The group will soon make its presence felt in a new avatar.

Good Riddance of Bad Rubbish.
We need people who welcome new people not those who want them out of here!

Isn't that regressive? I think if a woman has choice to wear less in public (such as uncovered head) it is a more progressive outlook. May I know what was so disenchanting about the Jat culture (as it exists for a woman) that you chose to join Sikh religion?

urmila ji to embrace someting new you do not have to give up what you already have.I believe in one god and one religion and respect all religions. If satnam waahe guru gives me peace i will chant it.i chant gayatri mantra also.I cover my head in my performances on punjabi songs as a respect to their culture.if wearing less is progressive .any body can do it easily including myself.madam ji gobar ki hail chaath p chada ke toode me rala ke thepdi nahi paathi na to chulhe ki roti bhi swad nahi degi.aap sookhi sookhi culture ki duhai nahi de sakti .usme ramana padega.aajkal me oven me naan aur brownies banati hu par moka padane pe shyani bhain te leke paanch pattase er bhaati ga saku su.ab saag ,pinnia er langar waali daal or sundari mundari k saath giddha ki bolia or shabad bhi ga leti hu.i have enriched my self not substituted onething for another.

yes it is only bihari and other migrants from poor states who are in such a miserable conditions in delhi........All the Jaats who are living in rural delhi are in a position to fulfill their most basic needs........food, shelter, clothing......However I accept the fact that there are some Jat fellows in delhi who are facing a lot of troubles in making ends meet...........Instead of discussing and making fun of their situations one should help them in whatever way one can.

Rakesh Dont try to tarnish the image of rural Jats of delhi.........

Those who are doing some project/research on "Poverty in Delhi", may board an MOU train for Sonepat/Panipat from Old Delhi Railway Station and take a ride upto Badli. One can prepare a perfect thesis on poverty.

this concept of women covering their head/covering their face is old concept. lot of women in lot of places world over fought for the rights and dignity of women and what we see today in the modern world is their gift to us in the form of a modern life that many women world over enjoy. when i see women in cities, western world wearing burkas/covering their faces/heads, it seems these women are siding with the men who selfishly used women for their own good.
But it does not matter - there are still plenty others who live as role models for the future generation.
