Hi Satyeshwar,
good morning.
First off all thanks a lot to consider the request worth implementing.
However, i fear the requirement is misunderstood (as usual in IT, it came out only after implementation :P).

What I understand from you post is that if we click on the 'like' button on the first post of the thread, it will send a notification to the facebook profile.
If yes then i guess this was not intended by many of us.

('xyz' person likes this post) was enough.. no notification.
this was to avoid the 'i like', 'hahahaha', 'hehehehhehe', 'kasooot' kind of posts. As well as unlike button to check if 5 unikes can get the moderator attention to edit or delete that post.

See, most of the posts & threads on JL are around jats and are not meant to be read or liked by non jat ppl who are there on facebook.

Hope u got the point.

By the way thanks a lot.
I have liked 'Albaadi baalkan k kisse'.....
i m sure my facebook frnds will like this... :)

Okay, I can implement that as well. Give me a few days.

Le bhai Narendra, aur bol koi seva ho mhaare laayak. :)

I have added a Like button next to each post. When you make a post, on the left hand side, there should now be a button for other members to like your post. Nothing to do with Facebook. Please let me know if you find any issues with this one. Please also let me know if that original feature that I added where you could use facebook is useful to anyone.

I do need to know if the Facebook like button feature is useful to anyone. If no one finds that useful, I will be removing it.

have dislike also then like will be more useful, as they both go hand in hand
and what do you mean that if its not useful? How you will reach that conclusion?

I reckon it's a good feature. Nowadays every website has got that feature. Instead of removing it, you should add a link to twitter as well ;). Having said that, if you feel that Facebook like button is a performance bottleneck then yes its better to count how many people use it ;)

Dislike adds negativity which we can really live without. Adding the facebook feature does slow down the loading up of a page. Since most of our members are in India where the internet speeds aren't that great, we try to make sure that pages load as fast as possible. I want to see how much support is there for it (perhaps a show of hands through posts).

Bagh, FB feature is not required in my opinion even if it is fast. JL has its own authenticity which shall be kept at every cost. Presently, Like button to like a post is a good gadjet for members. Since guests are always more in numbers in browsing JL. What do you think about adding this Like button for Guests also? It could be helpful in knowing feedback from non-members about JL.

Good idea to know what kind of threads majority of jatland members like to read and see here on jatland

Its a request to the people who manages this site

Can we have a 'like/unlike' button for posts???

Like what it is there in Facebook or may be on other networking site.

Liked few post too much felt like clicking on like but it was not there.

hope to see it soon

Not technically feasible to allow guests.

totally in sync with you but my point was some people keep writing rubbish( i may be part of ir sometimes) , good post one can always appreciate by clicking on 'like' but u can rename the dislike as not like-able ? M point is lets have pro-con together if you really want to judge this .

Absolutely correct that dislike adds negativity and we can live without it.

If FB feature hampers the smooth flow of internet, it may be removed too.

Bhaisahab aap mere piche kyun lag liye?? Ebb to than li hai lagta hai aapne ki meri sari post k khilaf hi likhn ahai.

Main bhi koi negativity ka supporter nahi hun , infact i never see anything negative in anyone be it politician/any work/any posts that people post on JL, mere intent samajhane ki kosis karo to baat smaajh aa jayegi.
