Love verses hatred

While people tend to express their LOVE easily...they still NEVER accept if they HATE. So the words define which is acceptable/agreeable/lovable. We say he/she is lovable but rarely hear hatable. As many have already mentioned that excess of all emotions is bad and so applies to LOVE & HATE too. As Anil said hate can also be in a positive sense but if its felt and used for some of competition or to prove oneself better than others in fields like education/career and even if its pertaining to personality's comparison it is negative to some extent as each one is UNIQUE. We might shout I love you/i love this/i love that or EVEN i love myself but how many times can we shout I HATE myself? or someone else. So sacred feeling Love prevails:)

Rightly said :)

Sunita ji this is because of the perception/notion people have that hate is always bad , and the same is verified by people taking part in the discussion becuase even after repeated examples of hate channelised positively , still no body is willing to accept that....

negative to some extent as each one is UNIQUE.

Sunita ji , to me the realm of moving away from the equanimity or moving towards any emotion is doing comparision. I love myself means that there is an inherent "more" somewhere , i.e. i love myself more than i love x , y , z.
So in that sense even the love feeling towards self / someone else obviates a comparision and so would go against the uniqueness hypothesis. To be a Egalitarian is the only way out it seems :)

can we shout I HATE myself?

Again Sunita this is predefined notion , we are not strong enough to admit that we are/were wrong , we messed up etc etc.
I dont know about others , but i am a frim believe that there is no better judge of self than the self itself. So it is imperative that you judge yourself rationally and without biases. :) I admit to myself many a times that i messed up. And if you want to be very very specific , i have said to myself a couple of times that i hate myself!

In the whole discussion i have nowehre denied the fact that spreading love is very good , what i am trying to say is that dont be happy with that 90 % , go beyond , go beyond the pre defined concepts of love being good , hate being bad! Understand the intricacies of each , understand that you can channelise yur emotions ( all of them) in a positive way always! :) At least you can give it a shot!

There is a difference.....Anil.......very distinct one.......Hatred has her hands on her bums and the Love has her hands on her waist.............!

.

May be my eyes are betraying me , i tried to be in the same pose in front of my mirror today and realised that in that posture , in both the scenarios ( the object or the image) the hands are on the bum always!

The picture was for fun ... but it was interesting to see you trying to justfiy you still! :)

I cudnot understand this bums and waist thing. Do any of the posture say something related to love and hate ??? Please explain.

Love vs. Hate

1. Both are bonding us to the cycle of life and death. No salvation without giving up both. Love is a needle of gold the hate is of brass. Spiritually we don't need both. Ok to remove hared we can use love. but ultimately we have to leave both to get salvation. Love is satvik - hatred is tamsik.
2. If you love someone you will become like him.
If you hate someone you will become like him too.
3. Ulfat na sahi nafrat hi sahi isko bhi mohabat kahte hai. Meera got salvation due to love towards Krishna, Kansa also got Krishna(salvation) but due to hatred towards Him.
