Dear All

There is a fauji in a village. He has one and half acres of land. He has two daughtersand one son. Eldest girl competes in the PMT test of Maulana Medical College and her rank number allows her to take admission in M.B.B.S. But she declines the offer and opts for B.D.S. because she can not afford the Fees and annual expenditures for M.B.B.S. Her mother and father are very sad but they are helpless. This year 248 students in Panjab have declined the offer of M.B.B.S. because they cannot afford the fees etc.

Dahiya Saab,

How about blaming Hugo Boss (I love it) for not selling their cologne for $1.00/liter or Harvard Univ. not allowing free education to all or designer clothes not available to GAAM KI GAURI for free and then they have to opt for shabby clothes because Hindustan Lever's detergents are too expensive.

Remember, there are no free rides....if somebody is charging you money for good education...take it, it's good deal OR take a walk.

hope it helps you!

Amit

Chillar Saab,

How to about blaming the "Fauji" not to afford the "Hugo Boss" "Cologne" like you?

How to about not blaming "Fauji" to act in the play field of "Death" (border)... in front of "Guns" rather than sitting in a/c offices?

Yes "Fauji" are doing their job, but its not only their cup of tea!

Gaam ke Gauri can also be still more beautifull rather than a urban counterpart!...although she has not so called "Designer Cloths"

We should at least feel and regard the childrens whose parents are poor but they are talented....the sad thing this that their parents couldn't afford their fee.......being a "Fauji"

Dahiya Saab was not asking for your "kind help" ...he was just sharing his sad feeling (sorrow) in the Forum!!!

We should honour the profession "Fauji"....so what ,they are also doing their job even!

What about the NDA and CDS qualifier..they can not qualify IIM or IITs? Its individual prefernce...use "Hugo Boss" or Battle field. "Remember Kargil" the young boys were "Shaheed" .....they are not died?

Uncle ji, bahut badhiya likhya aapne ragni mein .... So what needs to be done? Kahin na kahin iske liye aarakshan wale bhi jimmedar hein kya? Ho sakta hai unhone general candidates ki fees isliye jyada rakhi ho jiske liye wo aaraskhan walo ki fees ko compensate kar sakein?

Please provide some idea of the fees that the sc/st/bc candidates have to submit for MBBS as compared to those of general castes?

The girl has talent to be an MBBS doctor and she has cleared it, So there must be some options before her so that she can complete her education. Bharat aur videsh ko compare karo to phir harek field mein karna padega ..... fauji ki ladki agar bahar hoti to wo shayad hardvard bhi afford kar leti ...kyonki wahan fauji ko itna to sarkar deti hogi .... so try to understand what dahiya ji trying to pull out of it.

Even though Sainik has worked so hard through out his life and even on borders under too much hard conditions even though he is not able to get his child good education. So here the Govt should think of it .... either they have to provide this much to sainiks/other employees so that they can afford the education of their children or the fees should be nominal for them.

Jahan bahar ki aap baat kar rahe ho .... there the fourth class people have tendency to afford a car but can it be here in india?

Aisa julam kyon karte ho bhai ki ek master/fauji/clerk etc ke bache kisi aachey course ko kar hi nahi sakte ..... kuch to karna hi chahiye na ..... kya aapki atma nahi dukhi ye sunke?

bahisaab apko thoda sa to soch ke likhna chaiye tha

Dear jitender,
The fee structure is same for all categories even in Govt Medical Colleges not to speak of Private ones even.

Though this is a bit ‘off-topic’, could nevertheless be relevant. Even if the girl got admission in MBBS, what would have been the gain to the nation? The first target of Indian doctors happens to settle abroad. Sixty per cent of doctors (in General Category) who graduated from AIIMS are now settled abroad. In the case of ‘Reserved’ category graduates, the figure is 29 percent. I came across an interesting article in “The Telegraph” which can be read here: Brain Drain.

Fine!

Can it be like this that the girl in question also gets the admission( fee structure should allow it) and the brain Drain is also taken care of.

In one of our survey we found out that there is hardly (Even so called RMP) is not available in most of the villages of Haryana during night times. the 95% RMP's also practise in a neaby village and go back to their nativ village in night.
How a doctor should stay in the village is a big question. Suggestions are welcome.

Options are Many! Did we explore them?

Dear Members,

I am amazed to read some of the comments. Rather than having a sympathy for the poor family and bright child, we are having indifferent comments and suggestions.

There is one organization called NAJC (North American Jat Charity). This institution is essentially established for helping bright students of our community in achieving professional and higher education.

Kindly ask the girl to apply for scholarship. She can go to the website for this organization which is najatcharities.com

Please tell her to fill out the application. Send the relevent documents about the income and expenses. We are having our Scholarship meeting on December 09, 2007. Please tell her to hurry up as the scholarship funds are limited and are being given on merit plus first come first basis.

Please also popularize this organization in rural areas so that deserving students of our community can benefit from this great organization. Mr. Ram Arya is in India these days. He is the Chairman of this organization. His village is Kaliramam in Hissar district. He can be contacted by the child's parents there.

Please help this child.

Dear Deshwal Sahab,

Both me and you are abroad. We could have also done a better job back home. I feel we can also support people at home.

Today our economy owes a lot to the people who work abroad.

The question here is to help one of our community child who is brilliant and is unable to get higher education because of lack of funds.

We the educated people should try and help the child achieve her dream rather than feeling happy that brain has stayed at home. If not used this very brain will get rusted and would be lost in wilderness.

Dear Chiller Sahab,
I really did not understood your post. If it is just a humor then it is OK even though it did not merit on this topic at this time. If it is a comment on what the situation is then it is disappointing.

I think we are lucky one and every one is not as lucky as we may be. It is time for us to do some thing for the poor people of our community whatever little we can. Least we can do is not to make fun of their helplessness.

Let us make one group of people to help these brilliant students

Hi All. Coming back to Jatland after a long time. I was just thinking about the problem and thought we should make one group of people who can identify few really needy brilliant students and fund their studies. Lot of us r working in foreign countries and earning in pounds and dollars. If we can just shell out 50-100 £ or $ once in 2-3 months can help a lot of needy students. we can't help all but few really needy can be given help in this way. If we really want to help someone and not just keep on discussing these all ir-relevant points then please give ur suggestions. I m ready to shell out some amount every month for this noble cause.

Thanks and regards

Uncle ji,

YAKSH prashan hai ye to :).

During the last few months I had to see the professional world of medicine or doctors say. Lots of misconceptions and lots of cruel realities are there for this life giving field.

Some say that in costly private hospitals they keep even the dead patient ventilator for few days and after the clearance only they let the patient body handed over to the family. Some say that they do un-necessary tests and medicines just to keep the patient with them for long so that the fee meter should carry on. etc etc

But above all these doctors are just like gods who save lives. One of my classmate is a PG doctor now in a very popular hospital, but still he is not getting much as for his efforts. Money is the main concern today and its the reality that we need money. Now if the less competent people in other streams like IT are earning much than them then they also think of getting professional totally. And that is why they usually prefer to be in foreign countries or to have their own clinics rather than the PGI kind of govt jobs, where there is lots and lots of politics and less salaries with high burden.

During discussion with the new coming doctors in PGI rohtak, I came to know the following:

1) The stress level is very high as there are less number of doctors and large number of patients.
2) Some of the seniors are so harsh and mis-behaving that its hard to work under them.
3) Politics prevails like in every other govt dept.
4) Less salaries as compared to private clinics or other fields.

So in my view to retain doctors in villages we can do the following:

1) Doctors are life savers and its a very painful and devoting job, so they should get handsome compensations. (Like that of siachen or other critical areas in military) the doctors staying in villages should get special allowances.

2) There should be few medical sciences institutes only for the villagers. Means where only the village students can get admissions and they complete their medical degrees and have bond of 7-8 years of village service compulsion. Like that of AFMC there should be heavy penalty if anybody leave for other options.

3) There should be more doctors to reduce the stress on the remaining, for this either they can increase the number of seats of institutes.

these were some small suggestions from my side, we also have some doctors members here who can suggest better in light of their experience like kalkhande ji and you.
