Make undeletable folder

Making Undeleteable Folder...

We can actually make folders that cannot be deleted in Windows OS.
It must be made using Command Prompt.
It can only be deleted using Command Prompt.

Steps:
1.Go to cmd.
2.Change to the directory that you want.
3.Assume i change to D:
4.So,in Command Prompt,type D: and [enter].
5.Type in this command "md \lpt1\\" without quotes and press enter.
6.The folder will now in your D:
7.Go and try and delete or rename it,you cannot do anything to it.

There are still many names that you can use to name the folder:
-lpt1 until lpt9
-CON
-AUX

To delete it:
1.Go to Command Prompt again.
2.Navigate to the directory.
3.Type in rd \lpt1\\

yes u r right, we can make undeletable folder but it can be possible only on windows98 OS, not on xp & other.

seconly,

u hav to press ALT button with number key to make a folder.

like,...my way

just make a folder in D drive with using windows & name it 'a'.

then go to command promt and change name to some number's that is not defined in window's 98. like...

type on command prompt ren a <press>ALT255

to delete

ren ALT255 a

other combination's are also there which are not defined in windows 98.

incase you hav 2 OS simultaniously working than this undeleteable folder can be deleted using other OS.

Deepak...........This is also for Win XP . I have try several times. Even I don't know how to delete..........coz the process showing is not working for deletion of folder

i hav tried it many times in school days on windows 98, but
after reading ur thread i tried alot on XP,

per bhai ji its not working at all.

let me try it again.......


hummm ur right, actually i hav typed lpt1 without slashes.

i hav also del this using rd command.

but here u can view the content of folder not in windows 98

to lock in W98 just rename folder to ALT255 using comand prompt.
