In the last General elections, we have seen unprecedented expenditure on rallies by political parties. In some instances, BJP spent about 100 crores of some mega rallies. There was too much focus on advertisements, and PR by BJP. Modi was projected as a man with magic wand who would change India dramatically.
People voted in favor of BJP in a hope of a turn around. But slowly false promises to the people of nation is turning into a tide of resentment. Recent by election polls is a very good example of how Modi bubble is popping slowly. The secular front of Nitish-Lalu is won majority of seats in by elections. Earlier both Nitish and Lalu were decimated in General elections.
BJP was successful in polarizing votes of Majority and Minorities. Muslim votes got divided into various regional parties and BJP won many seats by very less margin. But what a turn around by the secular front of Nitish and Lalu. Surely this win will boost a confidence into Nitish-Lalu alliance and I wouldn't be surprised if Nitish and Lalu will form the next government in Bihar.
As far as Uttar Pradesh is concerned, BJP-RSS are working hard to polarize majority, minority votes. Nitish-Lalu success may raise eyebrows in opposition in UP. Only time will tell if we something same could happen in UP as well. But upcoming elections in Haryana, Maharashtra might reflect about BJP's Modi popularity. In Delhi, BJP does not want fresh elections as party is not confident in the assembly elections. Some news indicated that BJP was trying to get in touch of Congress and AAP MLA's to form government. But as soon as this news became public, BJP all of sudden change its stance. Anyways In politics, things change very quickly and dramatically.
But one thing is sure, BJP is loosing momentum now. After passing a year, Modi wave might diminish as unrealistic promises to the people would not be full filled. Kindly share your views. What do you think. Is Modi bubble going to burst soon?
