Jyani, strongly disagree with ya. For me the movie was total entertainer and 'Paisa-Vasool' . Salu Bhai rocks with his Dharmernder inspired persona and unique dialog delivery with full of Jatitude. I throughly enjoyed the movie. :)

A simple advice, if you going to watch the movie with a mindset that it'll be a gud drama, sensible, satire based movie then you are mistaken. It's all original Bollywood masala movie that will refreshen and unwind you. Certainly better than SRK, Shaid Crap. I simply luved Dabang !!

My take 4/5 !!

Agree with Vipin. It's a torture. Usually I do not watch Salman Khan movie but had this one due to good reviews but found nothing good in it. Salman Khan was at no. 3 (Leave Dimple Kapadia and Vinod Khanna out of comparision) in acting after Sonu Sood and Arbaz Khan. Overacting and funny dialogue delivery makes people laugh at Salman.
Only name is Dabangg, nothing else.

Not worth watching.

Life of Brian: Excellent satire. It did offended lot of people back then but without any doubts 5/5.

not a fan of bollywood...........out of utter boredom happened to watch Aakrosh.........I was totally moved.............nice movie.....

Wonder if they could not make an 'original' 2-minutes-trailer, how original/researched movie would be!? I expect Aakrosh to be a 'Mississippi burning' with holy Cross replaced with holy Trishul and Blacks with Dalits.
 
'गुजारिश' फिल्म देखी, लेकिन आधी, क्योंकि पूरी फिल्म देखना खुद को सजा देने जैसा हो गया. जितनी देखी, उतनी तो बिलकुल बकवास थी. शेष अच्छी थी या बकवास, मेरी तो देखने की हिम्मत नहीं हुई.
 
Recently I watched some Hollywood movies:

Inception : 3/5, big budget movie, but not upto the expectation, some scenes are very superb though.

The Amityville Horror : 3.5/5, watchable horror movie.

1408 : 4.5/5, who like horror movies, this is a must watch movie for them. Quite excellent. 1408 is a suite no. in a hotel, which was supposed to be haunted and thus had been locked by the hotel manager, but one 'educated' fellow dares to check in that and suffers.

The Silence of the Lambs : 3/5, I had listned a lot about this movie of 90s, but I just found it crap.
 
Recently watched: Tees Mar Khan- the most stupid and crap movie of the year. Please don't waste your time if you are planning to watch it.
 
Disagree. I believe, the film was good and this kind of movies should be encouraged. Hrithik was exceptionally great.

Agreed for Inception. Heard a lot about that movie but found disappointing when watched.
Strongly disagree for The Silence of the Lambs. That is one of favorite movies. Anthony Hopkins was exceptional in the movie. With Silence of the Lambs comes some much needed recognition for the horror genre. It is a first-rate production all around. It boasts a witty and suspenseful script based on the Thomas Harris novel, full of great lines. It has marvelous direction from Demme. Demme creates suspense very well throughout and uses some great directorial shots such as the twin frames of Clarice ringing a doorbell and the FBI men breaking into a home. The two lead actors won oscars for their performances...each deserved. Foster is very good in her role, but it is Anthony Hopkins that literally lights up the screen with his complex portrayal of a complex serial killer. Hopkins does the seemingly impossible. He frightens you with his outrageousness and yet illicts some pity/compassion(albeit not a lot) for his situation. He says his lines with reservedness when needed and brashness when needed. The rest of the cast is also quite good with Anthony Heald a standout as a unethical, petty doctor in charge of Hopkins. Of course the story of the other killer is very very chilling as well. A quality film in all aspects!
