Possession 2012 - 2 on 5
Movie is not boring , coz every minute u would hope to see something scary and ur expecatation fail every time.

Is this movie in theaters here? I just saw it via download yesterday.

I would give it a 3. I expected better drama. And Tom Hardy has continued with the same physique and dialogue delivery as Warrior.
 
I super liked his role in Warrior---n amazing fight sequences
He has done many movies as well-----small parts though .

As it was real story , so they can not make it more dramatic . Me too have downloaded

Jack Reacher - 3 on 5

Tom Cruise flick would remind of knight n day . Average movie .
Not be miss for its catchy dialogues . Story is okay .

Thanks for all the reviews but it could have been better if the reviews were more descriptive, elaborative and in simplistic language. Your cryptic shorthand kind of language comes like bouncer. :(

Movie is about some writer give his name to some one else's book n which lead to success.
Even though its not intentional - someone lost it other one found it - still that he has to live with that guilt .

Cartoon movie---different concept . Comedy obvious . Kind of fairy tale of vampires .
Who so ever has got kids --must watch . Fun to watch with family.

Guys ---DO not watch , not meant for u.
 
Martu Ki Bijli Ka Mandola

2.5/5. May be because I had better expectations from VB. This movie is not a cult(like Omkara) and neither delivers much entertainment. Do not expect much haryanavi(Imran fails miserably). There are a few hilarious scenes(drunk ones of Mandola and Matru). But movie does touch upon a sensitive issue of land acquisition.

Pankaj Kapur delivers an astonishing performance, not only he speaks the dialect very well but acts next to perfection. Shabana Aazmi also delivered a spectacular role.

Pankaj Kapur did amazingly good no doubt . Imran did give his best to have that Haryanvi thing in him---still not up to the mark . Shabana played vamp did good reminded of her character in Makdee . Anushka ----whatever .
Movie tried to highlight sensitive issue of Land Acquisition ---however somehow fail to leave impact . Background haryanvi songs good .
Neither an entertainment movie nor a movie to highlight social issue .
Some of the dialogues " on Ambani and shiela dixit were good"

Do not watch as Vishal Bhardwaj movie--keep expectations low----then one may like it .

My suggestion : Do not watch it .

4 on 5 ----for sure

Romantic but not like usual fairy tales . Rather a Romantic Comedy .
Must watch .

For gals : Not to be missed at any cost
For guys : at your discretion

Not for everyone, exposes the operation to get the most wanted man. Dont expect entertainment but a nice documentary

I agree; Matru doesnt deserve more than 2.5 overall. Vishal Bhardwaj has turned a little too indulgent with his characters in this one. He takes too much time to bring out the plot and when it does, it moves ever too confusingly and slowly untill the mid of the second half. In this sense, VB and MKBKM have uncanny similarities with AK and GoW.

There are certain nuances though which only the discerning viewer will understand. Pankaj Kapur's schizophrenic character is a metaphor for two-faced politicians and those in power we often see. The fact that he turns a socialist messiah and a capitalist at the twist of a bottle is a comment on our ruling classes who run with the hares and hunt with the hounds.

And Pankaj Kapur does take the acting cake. He is magnificent and carries the film on his own. We need more filmmakers like VB to bring out the best in such actors. No wonder this is their third film together.
 
Matru ki Bijli ka Mandola: 5/5

This film has many firsts to its credit: first mainstream hindi movie that chooses haryana as back drop. The full movie is based on Haryana. The director doesn't try to take the short-cut in dialogues - the dialect is very well represented. In fact, most non Haryanvis are incapable of understanding all the dialogues. Another first is that it is the first movie that aims to tackle the subject of land acquisition - the unabashedly leftist treatment puts a view point on the table, that is not covered at all by media right now.

Pankaj Kapoor has probably delivered the performance of a lifetime. Shabana Azmi is excellent. The best part is that despite not being hero-heroines, the movie gives these characters a majority of space. The hero-heroine, Imran and Anushka are not bad either.

This is not a run of the mill masala movie. There is a lot of experimentation like there is with a piece of art. It is like a Coen Brother movie from Hollywood. And quite a bit of it is inspired by theater - nukkad natak type of feel comes in several scenes. Theater of absurd kind of dialogues are there, which are open-ended and left to interpretation of the viewer (like Shabana Azmi dialogue on development).

It is a must watch, especially for Jats (koi base audience nahin hogi to aisi movies koi kyun banaayega?)

Well , I could not find any single dialogue which was hard to understand , same was feedback of my
non-haryanvi friends ( btw if I can understand it , any xyz can understand it)

He indeed was good , but LIFETIME no way - he is an amazing actor ----
in many movies he has done exceptionally well .

May be coz - has some haryanvi background scores which are good . Badal uthya ri sakhi - nice song .
