Dear Jatlanders
Myself Meenakshi Chuadhary..a regular visitor of JL since last 2 months..just wish to share my very first day at JL especially Choupal with you all.Thanx to Mr.Anoop Lather..i became a member of JL...enterd choupal..i was having no idea no inkling about this...
I remember, Amit Chillar was the first one who said Hi to me in PM box..i gathered some courage and started interacting in choupal common room...now starts my night mare..the way all started my intro..it was really scary..then their doubts on real id /fake id...offfhhhh..i dont wish to write those names, those lines here...they really made me feel tht i am totally unwanted and not acceptable there...Then i got 3 PM from three different people including VN ji to bear and stay on..which i will say that i managed to do!
Kutch din aur thoda kam thoda jyada aisa hi chala.now all settled!
Mera sawal ye hai kya JAT honey ka matlab batmeej hona hai..ya HARYANVI bolne ka matlab dusrey ki bezzati karna?
agar oos din vo 3 pm mujhe nhi miley hotey to vo mera JL mein pehla aur aakhri din hota...aur aisa auro k saath bhi hua..recently my fellow friends did the same again with some mr.maan and i never saw him again on JL.
IS this the right way ?
Bt still i m thankful to u all that through Jl i m able to relate myself vd my haryana...but dear friends still there are many more things which we really need to take care of!

Dear Ms. Meenakshi,

We are sorry to hear your experience. I have personally not visited the Chaupal, and am absolutely not competent to comment what people do there.

The fact that some people offended you, I am sure there might be some people who want to demolish the decorum of this forum.

I agree with you that some time, some of the people feel exactly the way you have described the question, but the population of such people is very less. Let me tell you, it takes all kind of people to make the world.

My suggestion to you, is try and get best out of every thing that you experience.

Once again on behalf of those unknown people and all members of Jatland we extend our apologies for your scary and unpleasant experience.

At the same time, let me extend you a very warm welcome to this forum. I hope we will hear your views on variety of subject and you would be a positive contributor to our dis cussions.

Without gathering enough experince , exposure and strength on the forums , going to Chaupal is calling trouble for sure.

I am not saying it's the ideal way to first toughen yourself with the forums but i guess it's practical.

As Brahm Tewatia ji puts a lot in his posts that newcomers have a tough time here on JL, so your experiences are just a confirmation of what he says. Strangely enough I have never been subjected to such/similar behaviour not only on this but on any other forum as well.

The reason being that i am very conservative initially and exercises my choices very limitedly. I can understand the intial enthusiasm , but that is exactly the downfall. You cannot expect everyone to be nice to you , or infact everyone to extend you a welcome at all.
Informal groupings are existent everywhere and JL is no exception. Its no small task to break them and let yourslef in one of them. Requires constant effort , work , posts and an image you build around yourself to let people understand/recognise you at all! :)

Hope you get the point.

There are no shortcuts!

Though I take the opportunity to welcome you and let's hope for a positive contriubution from your side.
Also I again welcome Brahm Sir ;) ! :)

Teacher, You are right up to some extent. I also faced the same problem on my very first day, when I entered in the Chaupal. I was a little bit surprised to see that people were using Haryanvi dialect in their conversation even their profiles were displaying their good academic background and current position somewhere in a good organization. As I started to interact with them, they started to impose too many question at that single moment. It was obvious that they were waiting for a newcomer so that they could make a fun of him... that situation made me to leave that place immediately. But soon I became habitual to that and I got mingled with them.....:)
But now, I'm very happy to see the people talking in our mother tongue, as I feel it makes more easy to behave and eliminates all formalities resulting in a proper and sound communication among members to understand each other better. I don't think that people using Haryanvi are always rude.
We can find many many burning issues in relation with the behavior of people in the Chaupal, all of us should take responsibilities to remove them and refrain ourselves from repeating further in the future. Senior members should oppose instantaneously if they find any person creating trouble to others.
Even though it's very common thing that we can't find only good buddies at anywhere, JL is also not an exception. But I'm happy to affirm that it gave ne to interact with a lot of type of people and I got a few good friends.
But certainly there in urgent requirement to apply a systematic process to introduce a newcomer.
The suggestions made by Hon. Col. Tewtia are highly considerable, we must not hesitate to solicit his and all other honorable senior members opinions to resolve these issues promptly.

Welcome on Jatland Meenakshi:) you seem to be bit paranoid like every female did in past n still does. At times it feels good to get PMs from unknown but most of the times it irritates, like today every PM brought happiness for me (being my b'day) even from unknown & new members. So relax you'll gradually learn to tackle/ignore or like:)

Mini ,completely understand what u r talking about..n believe me this is neither the first time nor it would be last..been through the same experience as some of the more active members tried to act fresh with me.But as u know ..5 ungliyan barabar nahin hoti ....I didnt let that got on to me as I made some very beautiful friends whom I cherish, as Sunitaji said ..gradually u will learn to handle all.this....Baki hum hain na;):cool::):)

See there is nothing to worry about. So many of our respected members replied to this thread and welcome you on Jatland, me too "Welcome to Jatland".

Stick around post some threads, build some reputation and believe me pretty soon you'll enjoy your time here and one day this website will become a habit of yours like me. Just want to quote whatever Nysa already said "Paancho ungliya barabar nahin hoti".

You being girl I understand that things are a little hard. You get a lot of hits on your profile and a lot of PM’s on Chaupal but I am pretty sure you’ll learn very quickly how to handle them.

If somebody tries to pull this kind of nonsense again, select that member's profile and just press the following keys Ctrl+S+L+A+P.
I think mothers of these joshile chhore are feeding them too much ghee just before they enter chopad.

n trust me nobody has nethin personal against u...

i didnt face ne such issue when i joined n though i had to give my introduction a million times stil it was fun.....

n i met some really wonderful ppl here......whom i met personally too n now count as gud frends.....

so let bygones b bygones...n enjoy the time u spend here....:)

WELCOME TO JATLAND

Blue Line buses

Online forums are like BLUE LINE Buses. u get good people as well as bad people. u get good PM as well as bad PM.
Jaise bus mein kayi baar koyi seat de deta hai ya phir bheed mein dhakke khaane padte hain:)
never mind dont take it too seriously part of life or online life:)

Hi

Hi Meenakshi..

Sorry to read abou such incident. Please don't generalise ur thinking. U know the world is made up of good & bad people. so it is ur bad luck to came across special characters during ur first visit.

Keep smiling..Bye

that's really silly and absurd (ur first day experience)....such things happen sometimes but lot many there to take the related responsibility :)

for sure u'll find many-many worthy members here who all will make u enjoy the jovial and pleasing environment.....so, start sharing and feel the good part (yet to be discovered and experienced) :)

regards
neelam

Samir Singh

thanks to you all

dear Jatlanders
thanx for your warm welcome and support....i agree with you all..duniya main achey burey dono hi log hotey hai and i wont say k first day at JL was a day with the devils only because there were few people who made me to stay on which i did..and now many of you are my very good friends..
My only intention was just to point out the way new comers are being treated..thts need to be revived...fortunately i met few people and becoj of them i m still here..unka kya jo becharey itna hi ghabra gaye..k dubara aaney ka dare hi nhi kar paye.. Its good to have fun but to make fun of some body who wish to be our friend.,that is not fair at all!
but still i beleive that things will improve becoj you all are here!

Sorry to learn about your sad experience, Some people enjoy being Crude and Rude. It is their nature. Best is steer away from them and not to respond or get provocated Welcome and best of luck. Brig lakshman Singh

Aap log agar virtual world me itna ghabraoge to asli duniya me kya teer maroge.

These things doesnt even count.

Be like a real Jat , have that attitude. wat are u doing? choti choti baato pe shikayat.

Aajkaal appne jaata ke chore bhi complain karan laag ge ak mere tai 'RUDE' ho gya, 'THADU BOL GYA' :p

Its all gud , dont get into the habit of complaining about little things and if its something bigger sort it out for good but dont start crying.

welcum meenakshi to JATland :)

“when the going gets tough, the tough get going” ... means >>> when situations are difficult, strong people rise to the occasion. ;)
with so much of support in the offing, m pretty sure u can now vry well see the silver lining. :)

joseph p. kennedy (1888-1969), the father of (U.S.) president john f. kennedy who said it originally. (vry obviously it was quoted keeping me in perspective ;)) it was however popularized by billy ocean’s song ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’ (1986).

a quote worth quoting from KALIDAS :)
...
Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!
