I have written this article for certain columns. Please do not replicate it till Monday January 22nd, 2007. I am pre-releasing it solely for my beloved Jatlanders. 
India-Pakistan Peace Talks: Tell Musharraf and the people of the Islamic Dictatorship of Pakistan that Kashmir Belongs to the People of India (Kashmir Included)
The scope of negotiations with Pakistan ended on the eve of the 1948 invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan, while the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir was still contemplating on whether to join India or Pakistan or stay independent. When India signed the accession by Raja Hari Singh, the people of India took the responsibility of defending the sovereignty of the territory of India including Jammu and Kashmir, and its people from from foreign invasions.
I have been a dove on this issue. I still believe that the people of Kashmir must be given the opportunity to decide their future. In poll after poll and numerous unofficial surveys, the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir have overwhelmingly expressed their desire to stay with India. Perhaps they have see how the Muslim migrants from India known as the Mohajirs are treated in Pakistan to this day. No person of a sane mindset would say that there is religious freedom in Pakistan. Muslims in Pakistan have become subservient to the extremist Islamic terror groups like Lashkar-e-taiba and Al-Qaeda. My claim is evident from the demographics of the insurgency in Kashmir. The numbers of locally recruited insurgents has been dwindling over the years. Now, most of the insurgency is foreign supported and fueled.
Over the years that I have been running this site, I have received numerous hate mails from Muslims (presumably Pakistanis, wont be surprised if some Muslim friends have been backstabbing me). My stance on the right to self determination by the Kashmiri people isn't enough for these creatures. They are afraid that given the opportunity, Kashmiri's may declare their state to be a sovereign territory, and once again they would fail t get the crown of India. Pakistan has been creating fissures in India's fabrics by inciting the lower caste people for their despicable treatment by the upper castes. Pakistan has incited the Sikhs in the past to secede from India. Muslims have openly supported the insurgency by socialist-leftist guerrillas in the eastern states. Every violent separatist activity in India over the past sixty years has Pakistan written all over it. It is not just a co-incidence. We are bordered by a neighbor who has no desire to exist peacefully.
From my personal interactions with Pakistanis, what I feel is that these people are not interested in helping the Kashmiri's to practice their right to self-determination. They are mostly interested in seeing india disintegrate. From the day the tri-color flew over the Red Fort for the first time, Pakistan has not missed a single opportunity to undermine our progress. As I said earlier they have openly supported every known separatist movement in India. They have invaded India 3 times (I believe that we invaded them in 1972). To add insult to injury they have been hosting anti-India rogue elements like Dawood Ibrahim who are wanted in India mass-murder. It is also a widely believed that Pakistan has been undermining our economy by flushing in loads of counterfeit currency.
Had Pakistan been applying all this effort at building their own nation, they would have been a much better place to live. Pakistan lacks the moral authority to even challenge our progress as a multi-ethnic society. India has had 2 Muslim Presidents (including our current president Abdul Kalam) along with numerous other individuals who have held high offices in our Government. India has had star sportspersons like Mohammed Azharuddin, Pataudi, Mohammed Kaif, Sania Mirza etc. Bollywood's heart-throbs like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Dilip Kumar (not his real name), Nargis etc. India has the world's second largest Muslim population along with some of the most influential centers of faith and learning located right in our heartland. Accept for a few minor skirmishes aroused by some rogue elements (co-incidentally connected to Pakistan's ISI), Hindus and Muslims have existed peacefully over the years.
What does Pakistan have to it's credit. In nearly sixty-years of Independence they have had just one fully-commissioned Sikh officer in their military. Along with the bombings of churches (Christians are approximately 1% of Pakistan's population), extremist Islamic elements along with the government have overtly raised the few leftover Hindu shrines. Everyone knows about how the Pakistani military openly drove out the Hindus in masses and turned a blind eye towards the massacre of the leftover Hindus, after the partition. Forget about the religious minorities, the Pakistanis cold not tolerate the dark-skinned Muslims of west-Pakistan or Bangladesh. When the Bangla Muslims expressed their desire to preserve their ethnic identity, Pakistan slaughtered 3 million of those people of a lesser god in a span of few months. And here comes the Murderer preaching the priest about the sin of committing murder.
