if we observe current national political scenerio, i think we don't have a strong national level jat leader.
in past, we always had strong jat leader in national cabinet of ministers with key portfolio.
Who always taken serious and recognised all over india.
like Ch. Charan Singh(PM).
Devilal(D.Prime Minister).
Bansilal(railway n defence minister).
At present only Natwer Singh, but he don't have that charm and strong presence.
Bhupender Singh Hooda only recognised at regional level.
Look at 2 major parties, Congress n BJP.
In Congress, no potential jat leader for future.
Randeep Surjewala(even not known all over haryana).
In BJP, we never heard a single regional level jat leader.
In regional parties, we have Ajit singh(only western UP).
Om Prakesh n sons(only haryana).
u r welcome to add on this issue.

Thoda time kharaab chal rya he par Congress mein national level pe khoob chale he bhai, king maker he!!!

Mr. ShishRam Ola is also a jat leader from Rajasthan and now minister in center govt. And Natwar will come back soon. In BJP we have Shri Sahib Singh Verma (who held the positions in center govt. and was CM of Delhi) Another jat leader in BJP is Shri Vikram Verma who was sports minister in BJP govt.
But still i agree we need a strong and dabang leader which we dont have now in national politics.

Baaki bhai chinta kee baat na hai na hain toh ho jyange and future will be ours.

problem our leaders dont care about issue's of jats from other states. For example chautala dont have iota of idea about rajsthani jats. Whenever he came to ask for votes we rajsthani jats dont give much importance. Same is true for ajit singh.

As abhimanyu wrote, right now we have a JAT in cabinet, shisram ola he is minister of mines and earlier in current govt. only, he was labor and employment minister, and BALRAM JAKHAR who is Governor of M.P. also in national politics but it is true that both are very old nearly 80 yr's and not have a strong presence in national politics, I think now natwar Singh’s time has gone, it will not be easy for him to come back like sourav ganguly.we need young and dynamic jat leader's so we can see good future for jat's in them, I think HOODA an his son's doing a good job right now.

Bye,
Anil Chahar

Sejwal ji, Aap already office of profit -- Jatland ke administrator -- hold kar rahe hain. Aapka parcha is aadhar par kaharij kiya jaata hai. Agla davedar main hun.

Coming back to the topic, I seems to be a tough task to bring all the jats under one umbrella. It has always been barring a brief period when Ch Charan Singh was at the helm. Even he had not had that much say in Rajasthan (correct me if I am wrong). Nathuram Mirdha's region remained the last bastion unconquered by the great jat leader.

To a certain extent his success was repeated by Devilal but Tau renounced the PM's post and crowned first V P Singh and then Chandrasekhar instead (Attention Sonia Gandhi!). I think it was a political blunder and whole Jat community paid for it. His son Chautala, we know reduced the clout further to the state itself.

Ajit Singh (oh I love to discuss on this topic!) reamins an enigma. To an extent he suffered due Devilal's ego to become undisputed jat leader and lost in the vote out for UP's CM post to Mulayam Singh.

However knowing his political acumen (or rather lack of it), I wonder whether even become UP chief minister at that time would have helped him in the longer run. From having 45 MPs supporting him once, he's just three of them to his credit. Classical example of Baap ki Kamai Bete ne Udai.

These days he's busy doing another blunder -- demanding Harit Pradesh (I can see some frown and will initiate another thread to discuss its relevance.

Rest be that Sheesh Ram Ola, Natwer Singh who is a spent force with a career unofficialy over or Balram Jakhar -- they were more of a party leader rather than mass leaders with charismatic appeal outside their constituencies.

Among the up and coming leaders, I think Randeep Surjewala stands a chance. He young, articulate and looks like a hardworking fella with good connections at 10 Janpath. I have seen him trying to revive the Congress' fortunes in West UP (In my native town Muzaffarnagar). Haven't got a chance to see much of Hooda's son so I will reserve comments on that.

Concluding, I think the political future of the Jats is not bleak. As they grow economically they will grow politically as well. Sooner rather than later, I feel, we may see a strong leader who can dissolve the boundaries of UP, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi coming up again.

Dear Daksh,

The next logical step after bearing the cross is 'Crucification'.

All the JATS can NEVER follow ONE JAT. This is a fact proven by history, again & again. Though I wish we had one JAT 'Moses' who can lead us all. I have said it elsewhere that India is heading toward a new kind of 'Dynastic Rule', the kind of situation that prevailed before independence. Then we had 500 odd Kings, Princes & Feudal Lords ruling us, now we have the 500 odd in the parliament. We may have many JATS in that hall but to find one 'LEADER', very difficult.

Regards,

JS Malik

Well said...

Well said sir very well said.

Yeh to Jat hi mera kopach kaadh denge. My own people would be the first to beat me unto death!

May be I should take my nomination back and wait for someone else to come forward. I would join the crowd then and stone him.

But wait a minute... the Crucifixion is logically followed by Resurrection. May be I should stay then.

But then somethings are easier said than done.

With Regards (blessings) from:
-Daksh (Peace be upon Him)

You are right.

But after 'Resurrection' one may become GOD, not LEDER!!!

Rakesh bhai
Out of the names written by you and also be other members, only two can be termed as leaders : Ch Charan Singh and Tau Devi Lal. They worked for the Kisan and downtrodden sections of the society, largely free of any self aggrandisement or for accumulating wealth.

All others are simply politicians, I dont think they can be termed as leaders.

Of course today there is none on the horizon. Again may be because for most people political power has become a shortcut to wealth and
(in)fame.
Who can become is difficult to say. Its not even reasonable crystal gazing. But some basic quality that will always required is that of SELFLESS SERVICE AND COMMUNITY INTERESTS ABOVE VILLAGE/GOTH/STATE.

very right.

No Strong Jat Politician In Past Or At Present

I think Devilal was not a national leader , he was just regional politician. He stood a very strong chance to be PM at the time when V.P. Singh was handed Prime Ministership on platter.

I think we jats are nice people but barely have any clue about politics aur jo humari latth ki bhasha hai wo humare apne jaat bahul ilaako se bahar kisi kaam ki nahi hai .

Congress has no jat leader who ca actually flex his muscles to get what he wants for his community , anyway the whole congress party is just a bunch of people trying to put Sonia and her kids on cloud nine. All so called strong Jat leaders don't have #@&&$ to speak for their community.

As far as BJP is concerned , we do not even have proper presence in the party , so forget about a strong leader.

Baaki aayaram gayaram to bhatere aatey hain.

POLITICS DOES NOT BELONG TO JATS , WE INDIANS ARE BAD AT IT IN GENERAL AND JATS ARE WORST OF ALL.

some times innocence n honesty pays a lot. same happen with Ch. DeviLal. to reach at top level of politics, jats doesn't need to practise psuedo politics(v r bad in it, no doubt) bt there straight forwardness n honesty(nobody needs that now). finally, v don't ve any hope 4 future, let's accept it.

Ramchander bainda In BJP from Faridabad first MP in BJP in Haryana who won 3 time on same seat continue first leader from BJP
