guys,
when i was in high school, my history teacher used to talk quite a lot about similarties in sanskrit and german language...she even used to say that most of the german technology is based on sanskrit....i was very poor in history..just scored passing marks....but now i watched couple of movies based on holocaust...and NAZI regime..i m curious to know more..
do u guys have more knowledge in this regard...it will be great to know ur views.

I do not know much about the difference between the two Swastika’s, although i am as keen as you to know more about this.

I have a painting with a swastika hanging in my living room. Many a times I have been quizzically asked about my antecedents by my foreign friends after they take a look at the painting!!

I tried finding more about this but did not manage to reach a conclusion.

The only difference that I am aware about is that the direction of the Swastika is opposite i.e. the Hindu one is clockwise and the German one anti-clockwise. I am not sure if this is a fact though!!

Joginder bhai,
Geraman and Indian Swasthik are mirror images of each other. Adolf Hitler considered himself (German Race) and North Indians as Aryans, who migrated from Siberia in two directions one to Europe and other to India. As far as I remember he even proclaimed that with German guns(Manchine Guns was 1st developed by Germany) and Indian soldiers he could conquer the world. Thats all that comes to mind immediately ; recalling my history classes. I hope some senior member could throw some light on this issue.

The swastika is an ancient symbol. It is found as far back as the harrapan civilization 2500 BCE.

It is found in both forms- facing both ways

A net search will show up plenty of examples

19th century Germany saw a movement of ''aryanism'' which also led to the later Nazis appropriating this symbol, and it assssociated with not so nice things.

To us , it has always meant , and still does mean, a symbol of light and all that is good.

It is simply a matter of explaining that to people.

The language is another matter-.

Both have obvious common roots. there is much debate on which originated from which mother family.

This then also has impact on the Aryan invasion theories, who the aryans were, were there any such things as Aryans. and which direction the migrations took place.

Swastika back in the eye of the Storm

Here is an article recently from the Times of India which refers to the ongoing debate about how the two swastika's are linked (or not linked, for that matter). The news came about as a result of that British punk Prince Harry wearing a nazi Swastika at a fancy dress party (what is with these royal twits anyways!?! )

I am not too much of an expert on this subject, but my understanding has always been that the Nazi Hitler never liked the idea of 'mixed race' and was always glorifying the greatness of the Blue blooded Aryans... (The blue eyed, blonde haired types) and considered the mixing of these blue blood types with the quote-unquote 'below grade' various sub races of various regions as a dilution of that 'greatness'...hardly the ideal reciepe for looking at 'us Hindu's' as his role models!!! But then I might be wrong...either way who gives a hoot what he thought about us!!! Good riddance...

"The information they gave British intelligence was considered so sensitive that in 1945 it was locked away, not due to be released until the year 2021.

Now, 17 years early, the BBC's Document programme has been given special access to this secret file.

It reveals how thousands of Indian soldiers who had joined Britain in the fight against fascism swapped their oaths to the British king for others to Adolf Hitler - an astonishing tale of loyalty, despair and betrayal that threatened to rock British rule in India, known as the Raj."

Amit, thanks a bunch for sharing this amazing article with us. O boy! What an absolutely interesting piece of information...You know, the behind the scene stories that are related to the Independence of India are so intriguing that it is nothing short of amazing! And imagine this- (quote-unquote the BCC article);

"...A year later the Indian legionnaires were sent back to India, where all were released after short jail sentences.
But when the British put three of their senior officers on trial near Delhi there were mutinies in the army and protests on the streets.
With the British now aware that the Indian army could no longer be relied upon by the Raj to do its bidding, independence followed soon after."

Wow! Imagine what must have gone thru the minds of this group of men who had trudged thru Europe; in the begining as British soldiers and then POW's at a German Concerntration camp, only then to be recruited by German Nazi's (under the guise of being called the Free Indian Army) to be deployed back against the British and the Allies in France...to finally make the long journey home to stand trial by the Britsih Ruled India!!! Just amazing............... Wonder why it was not splashed so much in the newspaper back in India?
