Need Hope.......Please Help.....!

Maybe the topics are evergreen because they need to be addressed and for all the threads and discussions the mighty men of JL have suffered on feminism nothing actually has happened in reality.

Just the act of discussion of the fact that women should be treated equally or at least as humans makes our might men so insecure.

But I think the might men are correct......we should stop talking about issues of concern and shift this thread to Movie Reviews.......so any opinions on the ground breaking cinematic experience that is RACE 2......I hope no one missed out on Jacqline Fernandes's amazing dance skills in 'laat laag gai'......any thoughts??

Man and Woman both are same although they both have their own differences. Now it is not wise to compare those differences. Man can be ahead in few areas but woman also take lead in others so it's futile to compare.

India is male dominated society but it is going thro' transition phase at this moment and males feeling the heat as women breaking the barriers and excelling in every other field. I agree that original role for man was defined as 'Protector' and woman's as 'Nourisher' in society but these roles have been deflected by both and we blame only the woman, why?

Every human being is individualist and he/she has every right to live his/her life they way they want therefore we are no one to preach girls should do it, what to wear etc .. however wise advise would be to what to wear and where to wear cuz' you can't teach 'bhooke bedhiye' in one day.

Udit, the video you posted here is cheap trick by composer to gain popularity n' is far from reality. I don't think elders teach anything as such specially in Jats, in fact we are taught to respect elders and protect young and females. Society is to blame here and credit also goes to women part for this male dominated society equally, I agree with Samar's point of view here.

Before conclusion, I don't buy your point of advocating cheap vulgar songs airing on TV. Abhik very well written earlier in his reply about trend of commoditising women.

Cheers
Jit

Hey Jit....it's nice to be connected on JL after almost 5years I think and thanks a lot for bringing some semblance to the conversation.

Also my intension and I am sure the intension of the chap who made is was not to make jats or any other community look bad and yes of course no one sits their sons down and tells them that women are inferior, but our actions give a similar impression to the younger generations and that is what is being expressed in the video. It is also not exclusive to jats there is no contest there.

If you are agreeing that it is a male dominated society then bechari aurat ki kya aukat ki apni marzi chalale and the ones that are fighting are bracketed as feminists.

About the item songs I agree that they commoditise women, but they don't make men rape women and saying so is just out of my understanding and more so any women doesn't deserved to be called cheap for doing her job. I do not disagree with the point being made there, just the way it was being made. Also I feel making, singing, dancing in them and enjoying item songs is another expression of a woman's freedom. If she likes to express her sexuality in a certain fashion, we shouldn't nitpick about it and address the issue at hand. I guess we can agree to disagree on this one ;)

Thank you so much Akshay Ji-----I was about to post same .

A female tired of feminism.....interesting times we are living in :)

Liberal feminism is okay(right of females within existing framework) but radical feminism seems similar to communism and Islamism.

1.Communism- They believe in a utopia, creation of a proletarian states on ruins of capitalist and middle class, they had/have perception that capitalists are of evil nature. they shed a lot of blood in hope that they would achieve perfect society but failed so far. After so much blood-shed, they failed to realize their utopia.

2. Islamism - They also believe in a utopia, creation of an ummah on ruins of anti-Muslims, they have perception that a sizable section of non-Muslims if not all, are of vile nature. They are shedding lot of blood in hope that they will achieve some perfect state which doesn't seem to materialize.

3. Radical Feminism - Based on Marxist dogma(replace labor-capitalist relationship with female-male relationship), they have perception that size-able proportion of men are of vile nature and they had to destroy patriarchy, normal family system to achieve their utopia. This thinking in women may not lead to blood-shed but I have heard from many Europeans on different forums that this ideology is responsible for lot of social problems in western society(break-up of families, increasing divorce rate) and it may probably lead to decline of western society(which is happening).

Not in the same league but ever growing social media created radical hinduism as well.
Some radical Hindu may also believe in Utopia of 'Ram Rajya' but Hindus have a belief that they are living in Kaliyuga(dark age), so they have restrain in their activities (prob. waiting for arrival of Kalki). I think that it's largely a reaction to ever growing Islamic fundamentalism in neighborhood as well as anti-incumbency feelings(Congress is secular party, so anti-incumbency may result in anti-secularism).

No wonder Modi is becoming the blue eyed boy of right wing extremists. Yesterday in a meeting with BJP, VHP and RSS pushed Ram Mandir again...
Both parties are equally responsible for recent developments, if congress wants, it can still divert attention from religious issue to developmental and other issues. It seems both Congress and BJP are more comfortable with politics of religion and identity. I think, there wouldn't have been so much anti-secularism on internet if there would have been anti-incumbency against BJP. Why people didn't buy Ram-mandir arguments of BJP in last 2 elections ? Both Islamic fundamentalism and anti-incumbency(because of corruption cases, economic slowdown, etc) are responsible for popularity of right wing, apart from globalization of anti-Islamic feelings. Moreover newspaper and tv news channels in past were mostly monopolized by secular ideology, now Hindutva people got an alternative source of spreading their ideas via internet. 5 years ago Many of my friends were expecting charismatic leadership from Rahul Gandhi, now most are pessimist about Rahul Gandhi. There is growing discontent among middle class urban people which is reflected on internet and in protests and also rising charisma of Modi(we can debate over development in Gujarat but you have to admit that he has a following). Still all these things are not enough to make govt. in India. If BJP will get middle class votes then Congress will get Muslim votes and they can also score batter among rural poor(due to NAREGA,etc).

While you make good points, there stands some disagreements.

Sad, but definitely true. But blame goes to us, voters who like to evaluate our political interests like that.

I differ, I feel there is anti-secularism on the internet not because of anti-incumbency but because of paid social meida trols who are employed to only spread anti-secularist agenda. There are a lot of groups on Facebook that can be followed and you will see a post every hour, 24x7. BJP has accepted this on national television that they have a strong presence on social media and I sadly say it is more towards spreading the negative agenda.

Are you trying to say a voter who cares for economic conditions and casts his votes keeping those factors in mind also care much about religion? I dont think so. More so, I have never seen right wing talking about anything else than communal thoughts or criticizing secularism. Ever seen RSS commenting on economic policies?

I agree, he has been a victim of social media perception, proven guilty before trial.

rising charisma of Modi(we can debate over development in Gujarat but you have to admit that he has a following)

I agree there as well but the following is questionable. Not sure how many of his followers are real and how many fake. Again, most of the content generated and shared in his favor on social media is paid for and is done by a dedicated team of people.

Well, BJP supporters also allege same against congress that there are lot of congressi agent in media. They think that no one can genuinely support Congress except a paid agent. Internet Hindus are generally not paid agents but middle class urban Hindus and NRIs who are accessing lot of information from net which they were deprived off in past. There is also flow of anti-Islamic ideas from Whites to Indians.

A voter if not satisfied with govt., may even support dictatorship to be honest. He may hate everything related to elites including their ideologies. I don't read RSS material but Modi is projected as developmental men and Gujarat is hailed as success story. Right-wingers are not any homogeneous group.
I agree, he has been a victim of social media perception, proven guilty before trial.

I think that right wingers have launched a strong campaign against him which bore fruits but he was not able to deliver in state elections like UP which also damaged his image.

There are lot of fans of Modi, some of whom I personally know, even in South. Other thing is that some developments in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are resulting in growth of right wing there, previously untouched by such feelings. Hindu right wing has done hard work in southern states to counter missionary activities, which is bearing fruits, apart from that extremist activities in couple of southern regions from Muslim side is reinforcing their efforts.

I differ, sir. Managing media and paying media are 2 different things. Also, there is a difference between troll(paid to harass) and a follower, the posts, cartoon you see are professional and BJP have themselves accepted it in media discussions about trolls. You can see most of the material they publish in Mr. Rajpal Dular's posts.

Congress announced to increase presense in social media but if they go the way BJP has i.e. insulting leaders or anyone who is against them, I would be highly worried and disappointed.

I think that right wingers have launched a strong campaign against him which bore fruits but he was not able to deliver in state elections like UP which also damaged his image.

I would blame frequency of posts on social media for that. Modi went twice to HP, a small state and still BJP lost. BJP lost in those constituencies where he held the rally but just because nobody created an internet campaign out of it nobody makes noise about it.

There are lot of fans of Modi, some of whom I personally know, even in South.

I know many on Jatland itself who support Modi but when asked why they themselves can not go beyond the right-wing hindu agenda. They say he is developing the state but when encountered with hard facts they become speechless, try to get personal(sad state, again).

Although Modi beyond Gujarat is an impractical thought right now, even BJPs allies wont let him become a candidate.

I feel guilty to discuss this topic on this thread, but it is a meaningful discussion.
