I wonder if you can file a PIL on the behalf of Indian war widows who loose their family pension in case they get remarried ? As we all know, most of them are very young when they become widows. I suppose they need pension and remarriage both to have a rightful and dignified place in society.

Dear RK,
A PIL on behalf of the war widows? Well, thats feasible and does have the potential to be admitted. But for that to happen need woman in such predicament to come forward and get in touch with me or any other lawyer willing to undertake the exercise. I appreciate your thought. You could give my reference to anyone whom you know and is interested to have the issue persued Pro Bono.

When a person remarries, he or she terminates his or her earlier relationships. Thus it is also the termination of all pensions and other perks. Its their new spouse's responsibility to take care of them. The main reason behind a pension plan is to help the needy widow, in her time of need. Its not a medal of honor on behalf of her late husband.

Why is everyone so eager to be a drain on taxpayers money.

I am not sounding the final judgement. Its only my opinion. Being raised by a widow of a Late Army offier, I have a first hand experience of what a pension actually means for a widow running a family and raising her children.

lot many things to do............!!

dear Phougat saab,

good to see ur thread over website...first of all, i want to understood it cleally that ur legal advices for the site members will be free (i hope so!)..secondly, if there are some personal matter they can be handled privately...thirdly, if you have pasted this thread for ur adverstisement then, i should say it was wrong to do so...

anyhow...let us talk about our community problems, which in my openion can rectified or taken care of with the help of some legal remedies...though i have several things in my mind...i will take one by one a few of them..

you may be knowing the Jats in delhi region and in rajesthan comes under OBC catogary...and if you have some idea about the recruitment system in jobs by the central govt. in several jobs there is reservation for OBC but in others (like UPSC and lectrurership) there is no reservation for OBC (i mean for our community)..this is totally partisian and challangable...

if you are able to file a PIL or case regarding reservation of OBC in govt jobs (like UPSC and lectrurership) it is going to benefit a lot to our community (of course it will help other OBCs as well)..i hope you get my point...

now the point is "will you take the pain to do it"?? if "yes" i will make sure you get assitance from some of brilliant and young advocate friends (Jaat bhai) of mine who are delhi based...

best of luk.

Dear Rakesh,

Nice to see that my post evoked a reaction from you but at the same time let me clear some of the misconceptions you harbour.

First of all you have read my post minus the pharase Pro bono appearing in the end which means free of cost or without any consideration. Wish you had seen that and then reacted.

Secondly, the personal matters involving any of the site members would off course be handled privately, thats a given.

Thirdly, the post for advertisement?? Thats not the case Sir, and in case you feel so then you could look elsewhere there are so many NGOs in the region operating under the garb of free of cost help and in fact its only when they fleece and skin people in need of legal help do people realise having been taken for a ride.
Besides, what you see is what you get, thats me. I do not wish to blow my own trumpet.

I thought like begets like but I will not take any offence with regard to your suspicion. Its good that you asked forthrightly.

looking for an answer......

dear Phougat saab,

thanks for the reply and setting the records strainght..and warding off my suspesions too...i am greatful to you for that...

but i was also anticipating an answer for the real question about filing a PIL which i proposed..i think you have taken initial portion of my post seriously, which was just a cautioning point....in fact i would have loved to see ur reaction about the recruitment system in jobs of the central govt... and subseqeunt reservation for Jats (as OBCs)......

kind regards...

Dear Rakesh,

I could lend assistance and in fact could take the lead in filing such a PIL, if so requested by a sizeable section of the community but come to think of it and I wonder how many people from the community who work hard, strive and accomplish their goals would want crutches in the form of reservation, anyway I personally give a damn to reservation or no reservation. I have some very qualified and well placed friends from our community and we hold the firm opinion that we would never wish to be categorised as OBCs. I hope you got the point. This bogey of reservation etc is raised by the lethargic lot which either does not have the brains or perhaps lacks grit and determination. Why should anyone want everything on a platter? I am not convinced that we as a community need reservation.

On a personal note, did reservation get you to Sweden? No offence intended. If you are there in Sweden on account of your merit and a dream which you must have pursued, which i believe you have, then would you accept some chap from the community edging you out and taking the pie, solely on account of the reservation.

Let me know what you think.
