Neha Chhikara- A.Dalal NRI Dowry Murder Case: Does education realy uplift community?

Agreed with jitender ji......Now a days, dowry is a just a tool used by bride side.......Our media also present these cases like groom side is wrong....Ego of young generation is very high. they are not ready to compromise. i feel these are responsible for these cases.
Nowhere education can be related to behaviour. With education many people become more and more arrogant. That's why divorce and suicide cases are found more specially in metro cities.

Fer k balka ney anpadh rakh de

Bhai anpadh aadmi ney bera na patega ek talak bhi koye cheez hoya kare to talak na hoga.

Anpadh aadmiyan me bhi domestic voilence (Gharelu hinsa) hoya karey bhai.

The story is from one side and media makes it spicy. Lot of members have given their judgment here without having the story of both sides. We , indians, are too sentimental and always react in haste. Let the police do their job, truth will come out because case is not handled by Indian Police. Since the incident has occured outside the country, dowry is the only resource left to take revenge if there any.

I agree with you.. I don't think dowry is the case here.. It more looks like a case of domestic voilence.

I never said education is responsible. I was trying to say with education irresponsible persons becomes arrogant also.....and that's why educated people also do these things.

AR BHAI MUSKIL TAE TO TODA BALAK PADAN LAGE HAI................................UNKA PADNA CHUDVA KE KHADENGA.................................

Have been slammed for the past few weeks at the job , actually was hiring for a c++ developer position. So leveraging from my reent experince , I like the concept of virtual fucntions (for all the programmers to understand).

Let me put it in common man's language. I like things been done with no pre-defined notions. More important than my liking is the fact that most things are best executed if you do them by treating them as stand-alone and independent than trying to derive something from already processed notions.

Lets take the question of Samar in light of my above "newly found/formed approach ;) " or better put at the face value. Can EDUCATION do something? If yes then how?
Being a fan of definitions let me quote this one from Wikipedia:
=============================================
Education or teaching in the broadest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another.
=============================================

Be true to yourself , how many of you feel (after reading above!) that the concept of education that you had till you read this was the same as you have now?
Do we ever think of values in there? Cut throat competition meaning more grades/marks to stay afloat and better schools/universities to get that "brand" name , is not that all of what a "practical" definition of education is in today's world? Leave apart teachers (who basically get paid to get students to perform better which obviously translates into a work plan of making them get more grades) , are parents okay with trading 10 % marks with 2 hours of music learning (or for that matter any other art/experience which enhances values)?
So we basically get what we desire ,then why do we cribb?

I have not turned that pessimistic as of now , so lets look at solutions. Can it be imbibed and if yes then what is the right stage?
One thing that's very obvious to me is that the later you try to imbibe culture and values , the difficult it gets to have some tangible results, infact its kind of impossible probably after 14-15 years of age. We at IIT have compulsory 4 humanities courses and i would not be wrong in saying that less than 1 % take them seriously , and a majority of this 1 % is again after the grades. Probably a good idea to start friom the very beginning , srap all this grading system and all and make different parameters to judge if a student is okay to move on from one grade to another. What would be loose if we were to graduate at 25 than 21? 4 years (time and salary?) , guess we all would raise our hands when we have to choose between quality and quantity. Radical , is not it?
The motivation to suggest such weird thoughts is the following : Human behaviour , understanding , reaction , values are subjective concepts , who on earth can judge them with the grades and degrees? Lets define a new system of measurement ;) Yeah i did watch 3 idiots but did not get influenced, i was always the radical self I am.

Make sense... Education = Knowledge + Skills + Values

In our case. Education = Data + 0 Skills + 0 Values

sometimes when we think about Gurukuls, Those were the real education institutes and somehow they became extinct.

Neha Chhikara- Dowry Death and Education etc.

Education plays pivotal role in formation of the thought process which in turn determines human behaviour - good or bad. The very first lession of education begins at home which may be called informal education. This informal education imparted by our parents or grand-parents leaves an indelible imprint on our psyche for the whole life. The value system followed by one's family will certainly reflect in these lessons of informal education. Nowadays, this value system is either missing in the curriculum or has been infected/invaded by the western culture. The parents also have scant regard for home grown value system and have started following Western culture in totality. This is not to say that everything is bad in Western culture but certain arguments/values are untenable or inapplicable in Indian context. The educational pattern in the hi-profile private institutions attended by the wards of affluent sections of our society has become too mechanised to leave very little or no space for moral education & civilized behavioral traints. The new breed produced by these institutions is, therefore highly mechanised, dry, devoid of social/family bonds & values and seeks to achieve worldly pleasures only. Therefore, inspite of spread of education, incidence of infidelity, promiscuity and divorce/separation is rising alarmingly among all sections of society, including Jats -NRI and RI both. Too much consumerism has given rise to a sense of frustration and restlessness. The senseless race of accumulating wealth and worldly comforts has made the present day youth an irrational robot. It is a matter of shame that dowry is prevalent even among well educated Jat families. Notions of false prestige prompt many of us to arrange extravagant marriage and birthday bash & pageantry causing lot of hurt burn to our poor brothers who are living in miserable conditions in villages. In the final analysis, education has helped un in enormous way to earn material comforts and status in society but has failed us in becoming a good human beings.

Whatever was the reason, death of Neha Chhikara is a big tragedy for the family and for all of us. Let us hope good sense will dawn upon those who torture the innocent girls for extortion/dowry or any other pretext.

Whatever is written is very good.I totally agree with the views of the writer. The message is also very clear at the End that the torture of innocent girls should be stopped at all costs. But in our country the law for dowry Whatever the section may be has become a tool in the hands of the family of the bride. as in the present case , the Dalal famiy is being projected as a monster which I don't agree. As the incident has taken place at foreign land let the law prevailing at that country take its action and our media shoul be stopped from unnecessary hyping with the matter with its masala and half baked stories.

Yes Sangwan Sahab, I agree with you the anti-dowry law is misused in certain cases. Therefore, there is a need to abolish the menace of dowry system through social awakening and pressures. But there has to be a legal binding too in spite of the fact that it is prone to misuse by the families of bride. Judiciary need to devise safeguards against such misuse. Unfortunately, we have no option but to bear with our very slow moving judicial as well as social reforms.
