This Car is launching in India only for Rs 1, 30,000 Car name is: RENAULT YENI
Very soon Mahindra will start Advance booking and there will be limited number of car for the 1st year quota.

looks good but I dont think it will be available for 1,30,000. This is too cheap a price for the kind of car shown in the picutre.. do update us in case you find some more specification .. like engine etc

but it's use will be only for metros i think or inside any city not for highways or long route bcs it looks very light weight chemp.:p

now in india also concept of city cars is coming like in US and Aus.TATA 1 lach car is also in same cat. but these cae will be very light weight and gov. will ban these cars on long route bcs NDTV auto expt. was telling ki agar 1 volvo bus type koi gaddi iske sath se gujar gai speed pe to ye palat jaynengi issliye ye sirf city use ke liye hain :)
 
SMART Car...

...Since we are talking about innovative new cars, coming soon....here's one that is supposed to be going to flood the American market soon (in the early first quarter of the next year 2008) and should be popular with the green activists if the hype is to be believed.
It is apparently already highly popular in Europe.

It is called the SMART car (an acronym for "Swatch Mercedes ART"). Mercedes Benz and Nicolas Hayek, the inventor of the Swatch watch, have together brought this innovatice museum quality idea to fruition.

As is obvious this "ultra-urban" car, is short enough to be parked 'nose-in' where a conventional car would have to be parallel parked. (see picture below)...

For the numbers people: The Diesel or gasoline versions of the SMART car will be sold for less than 17,000 US dollars! The dimensions are: 8.8' long, 5.1' tall, and 5.1' wide- with a top dpeed of 90 miles/hour; apparently, this is not a car to be driven on everyday highways. It is designed to achieve 40-45 miles per gallon under normal driving circumstances. They come equipped with five airbags, an electronic stability program and one of the most sophisticated security frames in the wold.

SO why and what the hype about really??? :confused:

Well, it's most important version will be the electric vehicle (FV) which will have an introductory price of $35,000.
Although called an "Hybrid", the vehicle is completely electric. (a charging time of 5-6 hours using standard 110 AC outlest, and a range of 120-150 miles per charge; plus it runs on lithium batteries- the same used in cell-phones, computers, or pretty much anything we use that is portable electronic device!

Let us welcome the green choice of the decade!!! :D:D:D
