He is not a youth Icon. He is just one more opportunist politician. We call Icon a person who have done something significant in any field and set example for others to follow. He is just setting up his future prospects fo being PM, as congis will keep him on their head and will take to the PM chair. He is just trying to prove that he is leader of public. I disagree that he is looking for cheap fame.. He is the only person from Gandhi family who has back bone.. He could have PM any day but he never opted for that. He gave new life to party and made many positive amendments in the ticket distribution system. He worked to bring the youth to party's main stream.
Many youth leaders like Deepender and sachin Pilot gave new lease to congress in many states becuase of Rahul Gandhi. I'll be the last person to vote for congress in my life but I still admire him as a leader and visionary.

Well, I am not a Rahul baba fan. But don't think this "cheap attempt" was intentional. Rita Bahuguna put her foot in her mouth by saying that Rahul forced the pilot to land in zero visibility. She was trying to glorify him as a people's leader, who would meet them, come what may. Typical congress level sycophancy. Nothing new in there. Media latched on the obvious security implication of the issue. Mayawati also got an opportunity to take a potshot at him. Rahul had to come out denying the whole incident. What choice did he have? I am wondering which hole is Rita hiding in right now.
