Well, yaha kehne se kuch nahi hoga but still just think we are talking abt war... hmmm .. chalo assume karte hai
war ho gayi shuru now its not necessary u will lose ur life... assume ur mom is dead .. father has lost all limbs and no one else left and u are still alive... how wud u feel now... wud like to live now ???
Nuclear war ... genetic mutation, aane waali generations bhi lost ... deformities, chromosomal abnormalities... incapablity to reproduce ... everything finished and u still alive(koi na koi toh jinda rahega hi) ... huhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... what an irresponsible thoughts.
We even shudnt think of this destruction.

nuclear war is a distant possibility nd by no means the solution. what i say is tht let's plan an operation... call it operation "tagda ghoonsa"
jokes apart, what i feel on the subject is lets make our intelligence ready... go into POK or wherever these training camps are... do a proper and precise search on their hideouts... map them on GPS. take target >>> 20 positions... OK... fire them all at the same time.
result:
1. pakistaan ko moonh tod jawaab
2. all training camps are destroyed.
aftermath:
1. the issue will come in lime-light... there will be a big hue nd cry... USA nd all prominent nations will jump in for mediation to avoid nuclear confrontation (if at all tht stage is reached) wch in my opinion will n'vr come. the international mediation will pull up pakistan for sure, PAK would be left with no other option but to reconcile or retreat back.
p.s : just absurd thots with no grounds.par sochne mein kya harz hai

Nuclear war .... hmmm... sounds like a plan.
Well let me try to give some food for thought a difft kind of line of thinking.
As all of you know , the world is going to embrace a severe recession , US , UK , Eurozone already into it. Others ( at least the developed nations ) will follow soon.
What was very interesting yesterday was when in one of the discussions it popped up suddenly that DEFENCE is one sector that is going to prosper and to me it seemed like counter intuitive. In times of economic downturn how can one iamgine spending precious money on buying weapons.
And the analysts said that it is a common phenomenon in all the economic downturns and the reason is that politicians try nad propr up situation of conflict to divert the attention away from the economy!
history verifies it, but still the argument looked hard to gulp down to me ... but may be it is true.
If we take that , be ready for a conflict between India and Pakistan some time soon and i pray that we have a strong govt at centre at that time , not the meeky Congress "kathputlis"!

to me sounds like a plan ! Lets get US involved a bit , do this planned.
And do this quick because cant wait for the Mumbai terror fire to die down!!
Can't think Pakistan with its democratic multi party govt etc and who had to take a loan from IMF some days back to sustain itself can afford a war ....

The idea of a Nuclear War is indeed radical. Such a call may be good enough to arise passion among less analytical audiance ,but definitely not an intellectual idea. Such calls may help one win an election, but would be much short of solving the problem.
The issue is complex and solution is not going to be easier. Terrorism is here to stay for it a low cost option to wage a war by a less strong rival against a superior enemy.
Total anhilation of Pakistan would not solve the problem. A stable, and responsible Pakistan may. While we will have no control or little effect on Pak's internal affairs, we can do a lot at home itself to solve the problem. Here are a few points worth considering:
1. Analysis of Security Forces: We need to do a detailed analysis of our security forces, both used for external aggression and internal security. How much we have, how much we need and most importantly how are they being used. I find every "tom dick and harry" using NSG commandos in their daily political life.
2. The equipment the security forces need to counter the sophisticated weapons and equipments used by the terrorists. It was so painful to see the .303 and 7.62 SLR. Night vision devices, real time information to security forces and better means of mobility needs to be considered.
3. Media's Responsibility: I think too much media is a pain. We don't need more media, we need responsible media. Terrorists do attack innocent people to attract world attention. What better results they would ask for, then CNN giving 24 hours non-stop coverage of Mumbai attacks. The media people shown at the site of incident were suffocating to the comfort of security forces. So, again who and how much is the policy question that the administration needs to discuss. While media may look efficient, but I could see the race for being one up to enhance their business prospects rather than actual journalism to cover the event.
4. These days people do have devices which can receive transmission on their cell phones. Showing live operations of security forces in contrast to the secrecy of the rescue missions. I am sure terrorists would have been watching every thing that media was covering.
5. The most important is the issue of "Intelligence". My collagues in armed forces would agree with me about the quality of officers we post to the Intelligence Branch. Or I would put it this way, that once an officer is posted to Intelligence Branch of the General Staff, he is considered as "Done". On the other hand the people posted to "Operational Branch" are suppose to be the hot shots. My question is that all the operations are planned based on the intelligence you receive. If the qulity of intelligence is going to be weak, how do we expect sound operational plans? I guess we need to break this myth and get our intelligence agencies moving to become one of the best in the world if we really want to win over the terrorism. Hate it or like it, ISI is a very efficient organization. Unfortunately that works for our adversories.
6. Calling Pakistan names would not help. If we want to take action, we have enough evidences and reasons to do that. The problem is that do we have a will and diplomacy capable enough to garner the world support to do that?
7. Last but not the least, an advise to our friends on this forum, who felt that the security forces should not be paid as much as the civil services are being paid since they don't have the intellect of IAS officers, kindly consider the performance of the IAS officers and the response you get from your security forces and sacrifices they make.
If you want to get the best people into the security forces pay them the best. You harvest what you sow.

I think our National Security team should work on assassinating the head of LeT, JeM, Dawood.
There is no need for any war.
In the meantime, it should work with the US to pressure Pak to close down madrassas which are terrorist training grounds and reign in ISI.
Also, India should work closely with Israel / US to upgrade our counterterrorism efforts in terms of equipment and better training and facilities for our commandoes. Also, India should improve its intelligence gathering by working closely with US, Israel.
A relaxation of gun laws is also required so that citizens can obtain guns and training on how to use them. We would've had far less casualties if some of the citizens were packing heat.
Our police has the most pathetic weapons - they still carry bolt-action rifles from World War 1

You have made some very important point. Regarding Madarsas, I think we need to close them down in our own country first. If you ever travel to Devband near Muzaffurnagar, the place looks like an Arab Country. SIMI needs to be taken care of and so are all other fanatic organizations be it from any religion.
A large cooperation specially among the countries greatly affected by terrorism needs to be carried out. International community needs to work on safe guarding the nuclear weapons from the Terrorists specially in the states like Pakistan and break away states of former Soviet Union.

You are right, we should first fix our own house in order.
Pakistani terrorism will grow under the threat that both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers and any nuclear war would be suicidal. Its this fear which will be the root cause of all problems in years to come. Pakistan is churning out terrorists in thousands. It is becoming an industry like sea piracy and poppy cultivation. Many allied industries have come around these people and who have developed vested interests. All sorts of solutions have been suggested over the years but nothing has worked. I am yet to hear any solution which has worked so far, be it in Israel or any where. We will keep suffering till we are worried of getting annihilated by nuclear war. The day we get rid of this fear, everything will fall in place. Pakistan has people in the form of terrorists who are willing to die. Unless we have the whole nation willing to perish, we can not deter these suicidal terrorists and their akkas. Fearful nation can not fight terrorism. If whole world keep waiting for terrorists to get reformed, then better be ready for them to get hold of Paki nuclear bombs and get killed without doing anything... Terrorists have no mercy and they will celebrate killing as many people as they can. Pakistan is blackmailing world through her Nuclear bombs and hitting us all through their terrorists... Very smart strategy indeed..
