According to my father Jats are not Aryan/Hindu/Inidan in origin.
My father said there was a warrior from central asia, the most handsome of all men, the most powerful among all men, he came to India long long time back....perhaps even before Ashoka, people used to call him Jat.
He married local princess, not one but many.
His sons, daughter equally handsome were called Jats.
Now if i think this, seems to be the truth!
May be he was Sythian/Hun origin or whatever but he callled himself Jat. May be because Jats were considered in high esteem from where he came.
I think he was not alone! Probably there were other Jats who came with him! But it was that leader who was famous among aboriginal people of India.
