In India, people interest majorly in three different aspects i.e Cricket, Cinema and Politics.Interest levels are up to the extent of being frenzy. All three thrives on the up and high of public emotions, so has a popularity or down fall..Emotions like HOPE, WIN, SECURITY, VICTORY are being the deciding factors in these games and creator of any kind of emotions creates the difference.Charismatic creator overshadows the peers.Mainly these three governs and provides bread and butter to News Channel's Fish Market.

In coming few months our country is going to see the formation of new government.Political parties has started to pop-up with their birth-right dogma which is of ''Popular Promises''.Public too is eagerly smelling these delicious dishes from various national and regional parties.Obama is known more to public than local leader.Quite funny, good and interesting for election bazar. He is young black of almost 47 years with an aura which has partly proven itself charismatic in whole USA and rest of world.

In India main sect of governing government UPA's Chief Mrs Sonia Ghandi's son is also young and he has demanded atleast 5% quota for young candidates from highcommand in coming elections.I'm not sure of his this inspiration which infacts looks good for country as we have tradition of carrying demented , old and oftenly sleepy old men.Nevertheless, this noble motivation fades when I see the same VANSH-WAD tradition is coming in to scene.Sons/daughters/siblings of exisiting old leaders is most likely to grab that 5% quota as candidature. So the hope for getting fresh faces is again in turmoil.Opposition party i'e BJP and allies: NDA is getting ready to play the field for reaching the highest power post in democracy. Mr Advani is all going hightech in his endeavours but Mr Bhairo Singh Shekhavat is turning naughty and giving nightmare to this Sindhi politician.Mr Kalyan Singh is an interesting character too. How much his rebellion steps would cost to BJP only time would tell. One thing in which NDA is ahead of ruling UPA, is its declaration of Prime-Ministerial Candidate. UPA seems to play a game of generating curious speculations.Wether Rahul or Not..? My take NO.Not this time in the earlies stages of campaigning.Though it would have been very good for public to see their encounters like in US. Mr Advani,in recent years, has become a liablity to the party rather than an asset. His deepest desires seems like fish needs a bicycle in present party's conditions.

Third national Party BSP has seen the success in UP election and they may want to take their elephant in to parliament.Their social-engineering of appeasing upper castes may not work in national scenario.Morever, Miss Mayawati has faded after assembly election and her cartoonish behaviour during Nuclear deal voting along with Left..Left Parties!! Ahhh!! With which face they would FACE the public..So many throwns now in their heels. Kindly note that none of political party seems to give a concrete and consolidate fight back to the present economic slowdown. So that is a little scenario before the couple of weeks of announcement.

Being a citizen of biggest democracy, Lets ponder over few question, which needed to ask to ourselves and then while going to vote decide on few fundamental parameters like:

1) Wether the opposition party/candidate has improved on the issues on which he was outsed last time? If yes, surey then it is good sign. If no, then it should be a bad news for that candidate.

2) Shall we( Jats) vote of caste of Candidate or his capablities? This would be difficult I guess..My take is, I wont vote for a weak and shaky Jat candidate.

3) How Can we decide about the capablity of a candidate? What He is offering better in terms of leadership? Obviously party at many places will be heavier on personality, in that scenario we should look in to their agenda towards basic and national issues.

4) How much one canditate is acknoweledged? His intellectual capacities and a skill to respresent them in Parliament.

5) Atleast, Can we add to improve the Vote-thinking-deciding-giving old mindset of our surroundings, we can proudly be an aware Citizen.

All of you are invited to present your views in rational and logical ways along with interesting puts which can make aware our members/guests and hence circle. Kindly avoid unneccassary quoting and personal comments.Hope we can have a healthy interaction with harmony being the centre.

Remember, we all should vote despite of our status and should bargain the best out of the deal. A vote is the real right which makes a huge difference for next 5 years of our life.

Thanks!!

My only consideration will be the character and capability of the candidate....party does not matter.......cast does not matter. My vote will go to the most competent and genuine person out of all who will represent my constituency.

Nice topic

In India, people interest majorly in three different aspects i.e Cricket, Cinema and Politics.

- I feel BJP has not proved as a good opposition party. Advani is not a mass leader and they are playing politics internally. So this time also not much expectations from them.

2) Shall we( Jats) vote of caste of Candidate or his capablities? This would be difficult I guess..My take is, I wont vote for a weak and shaky Jat candidate.

- Capabilities of the candidate and manifesto of party. In the 5 state elections few months back ... the mendate is for clean image guys like raman singh and chauhan in mp. Its good to see this change. Hope big parties also will choose clean image candidates. People are fed up of gundas.

3) How Can we decide about the capablity of a candidate? What He is offering better in terms of leadership? Obviously party at many places will be heavier on personality, in that scenario we should look in to their agenda towards basic and national issues.

- Yes we can decide from his background and listening to his ideas somewhat if not fully. This is the time of change and we cant expect a total white thing but we need to do a comparative study of the candidates and choose the better out of them.

4) How much one canditate is acknoweledged? His intellectual capacities and a skill to respresent them in Parliament.

- Yes this thing we need to consider as I have seen only JP and Deepender speaking in parliament and not any other MP from haryana.

5) Atleast, Can we add to improve the Vote-thinking-deciding-giving old mindset of our surroundings, we can proudly be an aware Citizen.

- If all of us decide only one thing ... just vote ... many of the problems will be resolved.

Thanks!!

Samar, In india people are interested in Politics but the learned merely talk and dont caste votes or take part. That is why problems are around. Jis din yuva judega politics se us din kuch change dikehenge. Good to see young blood like Vikas Rathi jatlander who are choosing politics as a career option. Similarly college/university elections should again be started in Haryana or some quota should be there for young candidates who are not relatives of present ones. I like statements by Rahul Gandhi for the same.

Na Idhar ki .... Na udhar ki... Tan-Mann-Dhan se I am for INLD !!!!

I favor them for their unconditional support for Kisans and Jats! I also favor them for doing "even" growth all over Haryana during their regime!

I joined "Janaakrosh Padyaatra" of Ch Ajay Singh Chautala last weekend. The great leader has a great vision for Haryana and I will contribute more on this in my next post on this topic!!

PS: Good topic Samar bhai! Thanks for starting it.

Doing some research on ajay chautala's I found news that didn't look good. something that happened in meham? some riots way back in early 1990's?
his father om prakash chautala - something about watches at delhi airport? His father once pm of india for a few months - a big politician did not help him. Than om prakash when he became cm wanted to take land near gurgaon to build some disneyland like entertaintment?!
against farmer's wishes?
how much of this is true?
If this all is true than how is mr chautala "great"?
What is going on here?
looks like most politicians apni apni jeb aur apna apna matlab gaddi mein aa kar nikal lete haen. sare ke sare ek jaise haen.
gaddi par aane se pehle janta jo sunnna chahate haeen
woh bolte haeen uske baad apni man marji jahan tak chalte hae woh karte haen. business as usual. matlabi aur dhongi.

Aman... your research is not at all mature and worth discussing ... at least not for me.>!!!

What all incidents or events you have which prove against Mr Ajay chautala is not for Kisans? Do not blame anyone just for sake of it brother..

I can also blame that mr hooda has partnership in SunCity..in ChdCity of Karnal... in Pasrvnath and so many other development projects across state...... but it will be baseless if I dont have any proofs !!!!

So be careful...

And yes, I have given my comments and views and Votes...(as asked by owner of this thread). You are free to give your views... but not "views on my views". For me, INLD remains best choice and will remain forever !!!

@Aman, Anil and All,

Guys please keep in mind that we are discussing here about Parliament election which would take place in the WHOLE of the Country.
Anyone may like anyone or prefer to VOTE any leader.Kindly keep in mind that this thread is NOT meant for BLAMING some poster's liking or disliking( for instance Aman n Anil).Just put in your views honestly, keeping aside the liking and disliking, for better discussion. :)

Morever, if you are supporting one party/leader like in case of Anil, be responsible enough to answer the counter argument, without getting personal on opposition party.THis would surely help in improving images of any leader and deflecting misconceptions.

@Anil: Kindly put your views on question no 1 where you support your favourite leader.

@JItender: Bhai, Students election are mandatory in my opinion, you cant have YOUTH out of fields just like that.I'm wondering no one has taken this issue yet.I want to believe in this, for sure.

@All: Former President Late Venkatraman was an interesting figure when he had advocated TWO party system in country. What is your opinion about it?
Would it bridge various issues arising in multi-party system, esp. blackmailing by regional parties? I think so. If anyone can suggest another way out. KIndly come.

Thanks Samar bhai. I will be careful.

Btw, I have not blamed anyone I guess. What I have written is that I can blame someone but it is wrong to blame when I dont knwo proofs. Aman has blamed my leader..which obviously is not correct.

I have already expressed my views why I like my leader.. :)

Elections are in whole of country... but I have written for people i know and frankly speaking I know almost nothing about Jayalalita and DMK..thats why I have not written about them :)

Election Tickets

It's only in our nation "India" where all our leading political parties provide tickets to those candidate who have many police records.
It's a humble request to all kindly through ur thoughts so that we will be able to request all political parties to stop issuing tickets to those candidates which are involves in any criminal activities.

Dabas Bhai, I sincerely agree with you on this subject.

So as a policy we in Akhand Swabhimani Bharatiya Party(ASBP) have decided that no person having dubious record will be given party ticket.

The one more thing is that the active participation of all the Indian citizens to vote and discourage such people.

Around 50-55% is the polling trend in India, out of these 10-15% people are from Middle class which we can say to be educated and working professional etc. And around 5% is the people from upper middle class and even above them. So the 35% voters who decide the future of nation are from the strata which doesnt have the ability to decide their leaders based on quality and with understanding of National and International impacts of policies etc etc. These 35% people have very low level of education or no education at all and they are the easiest target of the politicians and get tempted by populist measures and the parochial approach of our so called leaders

The voter turnout should be more and people should take pride in coming forward and vote. And also our endeavour should be to spread education among this 35% group(this group is larger rather as those who doesnt vote with in them also:)) so that awareness spread and they also develop the capability to compare.

Great leaders would be - Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, people like these.
I asked one friend who collects old magazines. He has an illustrated weekly of India from 1990!!! It has news about Meham riots way back in 1990's.
About other stuff if you search you will find it in old news.
Nothing personal. totally non-political.
Good luck in elections.

Unn great leaders ko kahan se lyaaein wapas? Are you in touch with them? Abhi toh jo Zinda hain ...un se hi kaam chalaana paddega bhai... Kisi Zinda leader se comparision kar Mharey Ajay Chautala ji ka....taaki mein bhi apne points rakh saku... :D

Great leaders would be - Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad, people like these.
.

Aur 1990 ki baat kar raha hai bhai Aman tu..... 2009 ki kar le ne...

Puraani baata mein k dhara sei... Aise toh Rajeev Gandhi par bhi Bofors ki dalaali ka aarop tha....and he became prime minister... aur abb uski gharwaali "king maker" sei.... er nyu e chaalta rahya toh "chhora" bhi ho jaaga king....Doorsanchaar ghotalley aala Kamal Nath aaj Cabinet Minister hai..... Lalu Yadav bhi minister hai jo ki chaara gatakk gaya...... aur naam ginnau k?

Lekin baat yeh hai ki aise aarop lagtey rehtey hain... INLD mast haathi hai... bhokkney waalon ki parwah nahi karta... mad-mast hokar chalta jaata hai !!!

My view is that these being national elections, we should vote on national agenda- and preferrably for national parties. So my choice would be just between Congress and BJP. In the current circumstances, I'd go for BJP over Congress, despite BJP's tendency to indulge in communal politics and the hypocritical role they played on nuclear deal. Congress needs to be voted out because of their dilly-dallying on terrorism, minority appeasement and poor economic policies.

No matter which party forms the government in the centre, it is unlikely that there will be any change in the system for the betterment of the nation until we bring some drastic change in our constitution and electoral system. If we have a look at our current political structure than it doesn’t take much time for anybody to understand that democracy failed miserably in Indian circumstances to achieve the objective which were anticipated at the time of independence.

We adopted multiparty system of governance, anticipating that it would increase the spirit of democracy and would make the government/system more transparent. But as the time progresses multiparty system exposed the test of power to many people thereby encouraging them to join politics under various political flags, but instead of serving the public they started misusing the power for their own shellfish personal interests. Corruption, being the part of our culture, quickly trapped the whole political system from politicians to voters thereby leaving no room for the transparency and responsive government. Omnipresent social diseases like corruption, selfishness, irresponsibility, insincerity, carelessness, all are the result of this multiparty political system. Regionalism which is the biggest threat today to the national integrity is also the by-product of the multiparty system.

Today people casts vote for their own self interests not because of that it is their duty. It is becoming natural today to see regional issues getting the top priority in election speech and campaign even in parliamentary election which is supposed to be fought on the issues of national interest.

We can see 15-20 candidates fighting elections from a single constituency and anybody among them who got elected, first think to recover the huge money which he had invested during the election campaign. And in result we have a system which is making all of us impotent.

The only solution that seems workable to me is that we need a complete change in our constitution and political structure.

1. Introduce the two party system of government.
2. Prime-Minister/Chief-Minister must be elected directly.
3. Prime-Minister must be given full authority to choose his team of cabinet and the provision should be kept that he can choose a person even from opposition party. A cabinet minister must have the required knowledge of the portfolio he/she is holding.
4. Negative voting should be introduced.
5. Minimum education qualification should be fixed for casting the vote.
6. Minimum of 5 years military service or 1 year military training must be maid compulsory to all Indians to make them disciplined and responsible. Most of the today’s population took birth in independent India hence they forget the importance of Independence.
People says, India is a country of youth but the youth of India is highly undisciplined and addicted to drugs and so many bad habits. There are hardly 1 percent among them are such those are committed to some vision, rest are simply un-productive. A disciplined and responsible public is must for India to progress otherwise sooner or later we are going to become slave again.

Well i think Congress is not doing so bad as of now....if we talk abt BJP then i think it was a good party when Atal Bihari Vajpayee(he is my fav politician, alive)was pretty active....if we talk abt Lal Krishan Advani he is good at raising communal issues which is not good always.Though i am a little biased towards BJP (again my fav political party) but if we look at the bigger picture Congress is not doing bad.If we observe our own state i guess,to the best of my knowledge,Bhupinder Hooda is doing good job baaki apni tijori bharne ki aadat toh har politician ki hoti hai so can't really help tht.Baaki agar Chautala babu and brothers,Lalu Prasad Yadav,Ram Bilas paswan,Amar Singh, most of the U.P and Bihar's MPs jaise corrupt politicians ke accounts freeze kar diye jaaye aur property seize kar li jaaye toh India ke kayi gaum(villages)bas jya:D

Exactly Kapil bhai !!! Dhakkaa maaran ka tame aa gya hai congress k....

Deepika, I agree about the point on Hooda. Relatively speaking, he seems the best to lead Haryana so far. But we should look at these elections from the national perspective. Congress doesn't have any vision as far as national politics is concerned. They are looking clueless on the terrorism front, looking at the policy issues from the narrow prism of minority appeasement. Economically, they had a so called dream team with Manmohan and Chidambram. And they achieved almost nothing. So guess we are better off taking a calculated risk on BJP. Advani has come a long way from his Rath Yatra. He has made a big attempt to move to center like Vajpayee. But he does remain suspiciously silent when issues like Mangalore emerge. Still, BJP has some good administrators like Jaitley, Shourie, etc. and the party can be expected to have a right-of-center economic policy. Also, it would be less likely to follow bad policies like reservations, minority appeasement, wasteful expenditure, etc. So I'd go for BJP.
