Hi everyone,
I have heard from someone that the employees of central government of India will no longer be getting their pensions when they retire. So if someone is hired today and retires in 20 years will they be given pension? I was just wondering if this is correct or not? Can anyone give some certifiable information about this?
Thanks,
Satyeshwar

That's true. Don't know the exact year of implementation in Central govt, but in Haryana those who have been recruited after Jan 2001 will not be getting pension. Same is with central govt employees. For that purpose only the New Pension Scheme was launched.

Deepak bhai i want to clarify one thing NPSnothing to do wid govt. employees NPS is for everyone & specifically for self employed people. Not any PSU, State/Centeral govt is liable to make contributions to NPS.

Pension is i think only available to defence personnals.

This is correct. But this formula is not applicable for defence forces (combatants enrolled people). They will continue to be governed by old proceedure.

Satyeswar,
You are partially correct, from1 Jan 2004, central govt employee are not eligible for mandatory pension. Now it’s very similar to 401 k. i.e. employee has to open a pension a/c and has to make his/her own contribution (govt will match part of that contribution.
