Welcome to Jatland Sumit and thanks for sharing the information.
It will be great if you can provide some information regarding the scholarships (for instance, in your institute). It is easy for anyone to search phd positions in Europe (or for that matter anywhere in world) but real issue is getting admission (and securing some sort of scholarship).

Can you share some information (for the benefit of all), how easy/difficult it is to get admission in some of these university (eg your university)?
what are the typical profiles of students who got admission? Does one need to have some dhansu recommendations and/or some publications?
how much is the stipend?
What is the typical time-period before one can write Dr. is front of his/her name?
Most importantly, how is your experience so far? (i mean things are not always as 'shiny' as they appear. :D)

Once again, welcome to Jatland and hope to hear more from you!!

Regards,
sunil.

Dear friends,
I am doing PhD in Biology (Immunology), so can answer questions only for Biology.

Regarding scholarship and other information----------it is not the same for all PhD programs and how to get these-------all these things are mentioned in these websites (procedure to follow and so on). Now offcourse one has to spend some time to read them.

If you spend some time and write the application nicely, chances are high of selection. Obviously it is always a plus point if you are from one of good institutes like IIT or JNU.
My experience so far is quite good and recommend also others to try. (But off course you need to try a bit hard as nothing comes for free).

Best wishes.
