Dear friends,

I am starting a picture identification competition where members can post pictures of some well-known persons and then ask other members if they can identify it. Hope this would be interesting. Please look at the picture and see if you can identify her. Please try to post rare pictures of well known persons only.

I think she is Devika Rani.

No correct answer so far. I will respond only when there is right answer. I will try to bring some very rare pictures under this thread and make it as educative as possible.

The lady in first picture was the famous Singer Geeta Dutt.
Here is another picture of a very famous lady. Try to figure out her identity;

OK - others are not participating here by putting photos. I am putting another one. This too is that of a great Indian personality.

 
The picture posted at post number 11 under this thread is of Rani Jindan, the wife of Mahraja Ranjit Singh and mother of Mahraja Dalip Singh. She was the brain behind the rising of 1848-49 against the British authorities. She was known for her intelligence and great spirit, Jindan was one of the few persons who was intensely disliked and also feared by the British. I would advise members to spare some time and read more on this great lady.
