I have often raised this question. I feel this is an important question. Can the Jaat Society adopt certain principles which give us more reasons to be proud of ourself and also give a good name to our society. If i were to suggest some principles, they would be -
1. Avoid foul language. Abusive words shouldnt be used.
2. No dowry, honor killing or female feticide.
3. No extravagant marriage parties as show off of wealth. (we have picked this from punjabi culture. jat marriages used to be simple)
3. No alcoholism (atleast in public and as a nuisance)
4. We should work towards modern education for our children while keeping them aware, knowledgable to our roots of arya samaj and vedas.
5. Every Jaat should do something for his village and society.
6. Be firm on your stand and principles but dont indulge in cheap fighting, personal attacks and scene making.
7. Lot of Jaats feel proud to use rough language but if we see the jats who are educated or who are closer to arya samaj, they use soft language, so i personally would recomment soft spoken ness.
8. Always encourage, appreciate and motivate your children to do better, rather than ridiculing them.
These are my personal suggestions. People can differ.
Now the questions are -
1. Can we encourage a common code?
2. What all can be implemented in that code?
