problem with visual studio 2008 and 2010

I am able to build a web application project, but when i try to run it, a msg pops up "Unable to launch ASP.NET development server".

i tried making a completely new file( web application) , still am geting the same msg, when i try to run it.

reinstalled windows, and visual studio.. but its not working.

Operating sys: windows 7 ultimate ,
Processor: i3

. Visual studio 2008, sql server 2005
. visual studio 2010, sql server 2008

does nybdy hv any idea about , what the problem is?
is it with the os? or is it i3?
i heard that i3 doesnt support visual studio.
Please help ..
 
Aditi ji i have no idea about .Net........ but I develop one web application development project in java. In java we use plug-ins for this type of errors.
 
Couple of other things you would like to make sure to troubleshoot the issue.


1.)Reinstalling .Net framework on your machine.

2.) Registering ASP.NET mapping with IIS.

3.)Check whether firewall or some anti virus is not causing any issue.
 
Reinstalled .net, it worked for an hour and then again the same error message.
i dont have antivirus installed.

Well that's strange. It should either work, or it should not work. Anyways, now you are isolating the issues. Just wondering, what error message are you getting right now after following those steps mentioned in that article.

Generally this type of error occurs when your installation was not proper or the copy of software is not genuine. If you are getting that dll missing error then you might need to figure out whether its a dll reference issue or dll missing issue. If you are not able to locate the dll then you might need to download that specific dll from somewhere and then register it using command prompt.
 
Is there any Port No. or something like mentioned in the error message?
I am sure that it's not because of the processor.
possibly "webdev.webserver.exe" is corrupted by some virus.( Virus or trojan not sure).
