I would like to say Proper Guidence is most important to success. I saw many intelligent brains in the villeges. Due to lack of proper guidence they are not on right place where they could be.
I am superised how can IIM in Haryana play the role to encourage the jats of INDIA. We should think about the all Jat students in all over the India.

I have never agreed with the concept of reservation. In today's world, hard work, determination, persistence and smart thinking gets people places. All reservation can do is get the student into the institution. What the student does there and after he/she graduates is dependent entirely on his/her efforts.

I would expect an IIM in Haryana would (or should) encourage students there to work hard and try their best to get into that institute. At the same time, it is important that the schools in Haryana provide the students with the resources that help the students to reach their goals. Resources such as good teachers, a learning inspiring atmosphere at school and home, a balanced level of extra-curricular activities for all round development of the student's personality.

I agree with my parents (Rajinder Singh & Meena Chhikara) that it is necessary to 'sow the seed' of the desire to learn as well as provide the necessary resources - not in the 'critical years' of Secondary School but from the beginning in Primary School. This requires that the government develop a new education model focussed on nurturing every child to do his/her best in life.

Absolutely. As a parent we ought to give wings to our children.....fly they will.

It is too easy to generalise what is said at times. I did not mean that jats of india will be encouraged only if IIM in Haryana is established... The post referred to the impact of the establishment of IIM in Haryana. Additionally, few people need no external motivation/ inspiration. Most people do need to be shown a direction/ path from time to time.

Every action has a ripple effect. If an IIM is set up Haryana, it will have an impact on Haryana in numerous ways - the simplest example is the impact on the economy of the immediate neighbouring areas where the institute is set up. However, to ensure a positive impact and to reap the maximum benefits, it is essential to identify the steps that need to be taken which will help uplift the society and the state. (Again, lest anyone misunderstand me - I am not suggesting that Haryana is backward etc. There is always a way forward, there is always a higher level that can be reached, there is always room for improvement.)

A university does not need to be famous to be a good university. What matters is what it provides to the students and can bring out of the students. How the students are moulded is important as they will be the working professionals in the future.

To encourage all the jat students in India it is important to identify:
- Why the students need encouragement
- What form of encouragement/ assistance do they need,

I am not too sure as to what happens at JAT meets, but perhaps meetings can be held especially for students where their needs can be discussed and appropriate advice (from those who have excelled) be given. Though to some extent, that is done in the forums on Jatland as well.

Education as a tool to social empowerment has been used by all progressive communities.
Education should always be linked to the employability quotient of a individual I feel We should plan for level of people every body can not go to IIT IIm or normal institutes even.
I have seen that there is no unemployment in Haryana only some people are unemployable because they lack even the basic communication and interpersonal skills.
Students come from villages who claim to have done graduation but cannot write even an application for job in Hindi or english

What is required that education is planned taking the individuals capabality in account. Those who can do white collar jobs should be trained in vocational courses. It is matter of great regret that where the IIT's have done so well the ITI's have totally failed in their objectives

There was a news in Economic times that some of the Engineers coming out of tier3 and tier 4 engineering college are totally unemployable . Efforts should be directed to turn out quality rather than quantity

I think we all should try to work for improving employability through education so that it may lead to social upliftment it can start from the smallest module of your village

In the past two institutes were started in Delhi one at Janakpuri (Maharaja Suraj Mal Memorial Education society) and another at Kanjahawla (Sir Chhotu Ram Rural Institute of Technology)

Maharaja Suraj Mal Institute has now become a full fledged Engineering college and CRRIT runs a polytechnic.

Both these institutions have done very well and contributed immensely to the society but still there is lot of scope and they have the potential to do still better and this can be done by now making effort to turn them into centres of excellence. Similarly there are some many other Jat institutes who have contributed in the past but today need a new vision in converting them in to centre of excellence these institutes can be our own IIT and IIM and we will not have to look towards the Govt.Similar action should percolate down to secondary middle and primary level schools

I have recently joined CRRIT as a trustee and chairman of the governing body. I along with my team have taken a decision to convert this polytechnic into a centre of excellence in next three years.

i would also like to request the entire Jat land fatrenity to suggest help and guide me in this endevaour

Rajender Singh Ji

Congratulations and best wishes for the new role!

Importance of quality education, explained very well.

Akanksha, you have rightly pointed out the positive impact the Proposed IIM is going to have in future to its surrounding areas. I can name many instutions like Janta Butana, Gurukul Khanpur, CRRIT Kanjhawalain had exclusive impact on its surroundings.

You never no, some bold Administrator Like Chaudhry Hardwarilal bring a change that can help bring results beyond imagination. When he was Vice Chancellor of MDU, he reserved seats for candidates from rural areas. I believe every one of you know what impact that had on Medical college Rohtak. 100s of Doctors from rural areas including Jats.

I wish something like this will happen again!

Cheers!
