Reason why we don't have JAT as an army, navy or air force chief

I am surprised to see that there have been almost no JAT as chief of Indian Army or Navy or Air Force in spite of JATs being one of the biggest contributor to the defence forces. I see more of Punjabis and Pandits making the top post.

I do not hav much knowledge abut this, par bakash dyo bhai kam te kam Fauj me to Dharam er Caste mat adaao, in ne Madir- masjid tak hi seemit rehna chahiye.
 
Ya its because of Nehru only. He knew that all warrior casts Jat, Yadav, Gujjar could revolt anytime so He stopped them after Brigadier. Everybody knows if you are in touch in your community how Ambedkar was died????????????????? I can only tell you he died in front of Nehru and Raja Bachchu Singh of Bharatpur was there. Bachchu singh was the person we should know about HIM......................

Rajiv after seeing ur comments, I think Nehru must had some very bad experience with Marshal Castes, but who was this bachhu singh.
 
Its not written but has been a rule since long

This is the first time in Indian history when the top seat of any wing of Indian military is going to be held by a Rajput( read it any martial caste ). Lt Gen Vijay Singh is going to make history the time he assumes the marshals office for Indian army . This has been an undefined rule for last sixty years that a person from ‘hot blooded’ breed should not be appointed as military chief . Ironically , if you visit the “Cradle of Indian military leadership” i.e. N.D.A. , you would be surprised on seeing the portraits of numerous Jat Heroes in Sudan Block.
 
My understanding is that to reach that higher level one has to go through certain exams and trainings by competing with fellow officers and only the handfuls can get in. It has nothing to do with unwritten rules, otherwise you would have been seeing all kind of court cases from Rajputs, Sikhs, Jats, Gujjars, Chamars, Dhobi etc, who could claim discrimination on one ground or other.

i don't think there is any such rule or trend that marshal castes are ignored or avoided.
In fact there had been two Chiefs of Naval Staff who are rajputs.

Admiral Madhvendra Singh
 PVSM, AVSM, ADC
CNS, 29 Dec 2001 - 31 July 2004
and
Admiral V S Shekhawat
PVSM, AVSM, VrC, ADC
CNS, 30 Sep 1993 - 30 Sep 1996

Also, we have Field Marshal (only living 5 star ranked person in Indian Defence Forces) and Chief of Air Staff Retd. Arjan Singh Aulakh
(I am not sure if he is jat as Aulakh are jat as well as khatris also)

Yes it seems its an unwritten rules and preceptions in the mind of Leaders that a person from Marshal Casts may not be the chief of Army, Navy, Air Force. It is true more or less. these casts or race are hot blooded and supposed to be less tolerable of things so this is the reason behind it.
I think its not all about merits, because all our jat fellows or other marshal casts fellows are doing good at Acadmy level like in NDA, IMA and OTA just because of merits. They have ablity to do and reach upto the highest post.
 
I think promotions in Defence depends on their service file, many times our fellow jat who are in defence shows defiance to their seniors or some kind of insubordination which get notted as red in their files leeds to early retirement. To be a chief I think they look at your social involvment too, hows your family life, they look for someone whoes family life is settled I mean the chief should not be stressed out by family disputes. wifes of officers play a great role in their promotions by throwing parties and socialising.How good is your relationship with your fellow officers and seniors. Punjabis are great at this and thats why we see so many punjabis being the chief.
Jatlander from defence background can put in their views so the young jat officer who are reading this can work on shaping their careers in a betterway

remember Bina Aag ke dhuan nahin hota. I came to know it because of my family relations where there are people either in Delhi Police or in Indian Defense.

Please use google there are 126,000 pages if you type bachchu singh keyword. For me he was real Jat and responsible for stopping massacre of Hindus during partition.

It was not parliament it was PM residence what I heard.

AND RUles and Laws are not universal and not applicable to everybody. Dont forget we are in KALYUG not in SATYUG.

I am really doubtful about death of Shasthriji. It was quite possible He was victim of Indira Politics.
And everybody knows about Ashikmizazi of Nehru so everything is acceptable.
Bapu is Bapu whose simplicaity was much more expensive than luxury of rich persons. Whose full
life was contradictions known as simplicity but spent most of his life in BIRLA HOUSE New Delhi.
