Below is the real description for our lab's refrigerator policy (posted while I was gone for a month)...
As of Monday, 12/10/02 all items stored should have a label. Items w/no label will be discarded. The label should contain the date of placement. All items w/placement dates older than 1 week can be discarded, except for frozen foods and factory sealed/canned items. Optionally name/contact # can be added to the label, as well as special instructions (such as hold until….”). Labels on items stored for longer terms (such as canned items, frozen items) must have contact info. Every 4th Friday of each month the refrigerator will be emptied and/or defrosted. All items will be discarded, unless they have date/contact labels.
This is the plan I had to devise to meet the twisted and somewhat difficult to follow requirement…
Item: Gaajar ka halwa
Item type: Factory sealed canned item
Contact information: Sahiwal’s famous desserts (Hissar wale, main road, near hanuman mandir, gali mithaai wali)
Contact number: 011-91-11-260898040705678988445
Date of placement: January 10th
Storage instructions: Do not discard until further notice
Emergency instructions: Hold until EVERY 4th Friday of the month!
