It is an unfortunate day for India where in the Govt let loose their muscle power and ordered its police not to allow peaceful Relay Hunger Strike by Defence Veteran on the India Gate Lawns today morning from 10 AM to protest against the grave injustice done to the Defence Forces. It is not the question of demand of money but that of our status, respect, izzat & self esteem. It is a question of Principle and Justice. Why the Defence Forces are being ill treated? Demotivation & Demoralization of Defence Forces are very harmful for the Nation & its Security.

They all were without unifrom, but as per you, a mistake was there from police that canes were not used. thanks a lot , you have already told to all what is real life and what favour was there from police for these guyes.

u misunderstood..

since you ppl have come out of uniform, so it's appearing strange...

whereas for common ppls, unke sath roj aisa hota hai....isme koi achraj aur aascharya ki baat nahi..

for eg: HONDA ke casual labours ke sath hua tha, aur TV to is tareh ki khabaron se bhara rehta hai....

no more misunderstandings and mis interpretations pls...

I think govt has betrayed Army in this 6th pay comission thats why they're demanding the justice !!

How about sending these bloody politicians & corrupted policemen on the front then they'll realize in what extreme conditions brave armymen serve for our nation and on the other way it'll certainly improve the health of these lazy bones obese and make'em a bit fit

On a serious note, I second with Brig Uncle's view point and support these ex army personnel demand !

So today's incident was very correct. is there no difference between, what action was done by hero honda labourers and these retired defence guyes today. u r expecting that,the same treatment should be given to both. can u equate the action did by hero honda labrour and todays action that was the permission for peaceful hunger strike by these guyes

Naarey lagana, bhookh hadtal to mantri logon ka kaam hai na Kaka!

I believe military service is a voluntary contribution to ones nation. Any good soldier should not be concerned about his remuneration. After all he is serving out of patriotism and not out of any expectation of economic benefits.

On the flip side, it is the responsibility of the society to take good care of its veterans. Even in a developed country like the US I see veterans biting the dust, going door to door of numerous governmental bureaucracies looking for help and are turned away. I have seen even worse happening in India.

I definitely believe that the latest pay commission is no a reason to cheer for the Indian Armed Forces. But, its not the soldiers who should be out there doing the naare-baaji.

Aam janta kahan hai? When Kargil happend people from all walks of life came out in support of the Armed Forces. Where are all those people we saw in the funeral processions of the fallen.

It shouldnt be the veterans but it is the civilians who should be crying foul for the injustices meeted out to our veterans, . A group of protesting vetrans does not bring about a good impression of the reasons why they served in uniform.

I think you are confusing 'cost' and 'benefits.'

Why do people serve in uniform? So that they can add to the cost for those who live in the society but prefer not to serve in uniform?

I just believe that if a soldier is asking for more benefits for his service to the country, then one has to question his or her reasons for serving in uniform.

Military service is definitely a voluntary service. No one forces people to join the military. People do so for their own reason, while they have other options open to them.
