Dear all,

Sorry I was out of this jatland for long (but I was in touch any how) coz of my personal beliefs that there are many peoples who can say-a-lot, talk-a-lot, but when there are opportunities to-do they are just dumb (might be am wrong for some or all of you) but this is what I felt here.
LOOK I just don`t wanna promise for anything that I can`t do but here we got peoples who promises and still promising to do something or anything for our community, but I donno how is this possible only with speeches and discussions on net.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS THIS SITE FOR OUR COMMUNITIES DEVELOPMENT??

Well I would say that this platform is effective only to gain and improve our IQ and find some brainstorming issues just to debate on them, as many of us can`t find many peoples overseas to argue with (which is in our nature).
Though it can help in sharing views for development, but someone must take initiative for that any way.

There is a thread that wheather we should hit back to INDIA or not and Rajender ji stated that even staying in here we can do something but I can`t see anyone and never heard of anyone doing something for INDIA by staying abroad (exceptions are always there). Infact if you got your own business abroad (donno how many of us got), how many INDIAN employees you got in and are you paying them enough worth the labour work you are taking. The truth is BIG NO.

In AUSTRALIA I`ve seen peoples (unfortunately most of `em are JAT) who are exploiting the new commers (students), who contact those restaurent owners or some other small business owners somehow, in hope that they are JAT and can help us but they just didn`t got paid for 2-3 weeks (sometimes more) and if asked they are told that you are under training and asked to do dish-washing or vaccuming-cleaning the place, which I don`t think anyone need training for that.

So this is an example and you can not do anything for that, can anyone?

Well my point of view is that after a while when you think that you got some stability and security in terms of money or whatever (which I think that anyone overseas can achieve in, almost all the developed nation peoples, can get in 5-8 yrs. depending on capabilities) must return back if willing to do something for your community.

OR please suggest me that how can one do best for your community staying abroad.

THANX and critics invited.

Good Question....

Bhai Pammu,

RAM RAM,

You have raised a very good question that has been discussed a number of times on this portal and occupies the minds of most NRIs. Sometimes the responses have been anything but mature. A number of times it is made out to be as though all the ills if our community or nation would disappear should all NRIs come back. Bhai, bikul wapis aane ki zariirat nahin hai.

There is another dilemma that faces the JAT community NRIs, I hope it does because what Pammu has written must be crossing most minds. Actually the issue is not as complex as it seems. A much simpler way to address this question would be by being 'Normal'. Let me give you my take on this.

Firstly, identify the needy. There is no point in saying I have contributed this much to my near and dear ones. Please identify as to which one of them are actually needy. May be none of them are. In my view, a family that has the capacity to send one of their son/daughter abroad to study and settle down doesn't need any financial help. I may be wrong but that is what I believe. My own nephew who is in Australia doesn't need to send a penny to his family in his life time. His father can send him 10 times over again.

Secondly, identify the manner in which you want to help. Should it be direct or through an institution. By institution I mean an NGO or a Charitable trust. Find out the reputation of the trust or NGO before you contribute, cash or kind.

Thirdly, identify the cause. Education, poverty alleviation, water supply, alternate sources of energy, adult education, old age hostel etc

Fourthly, identify the ways to monitor your contribution as to whether it has been spent for the purpose for which you made a contribution from your hard earned money. Visit the places where your effort is fructifying when you visit India.

Fifthly, be satisfied that you did your bit. Don't compare the charity or contributions made. It is enough to just contribute with a selfless thought.

Sixthly, why don't you join the efforts of NJAC that is already doing all this through its dedicated team led by Mr Arya in USA. You will be saved all the hardwork that has already been put in by them.

Seventhly, never be dejected in life. Mehnat karo apne se upar dekh kar or aish karo apne se neeche walon ki taraf dekh kar.

I am sure the JAT boys/girls who are being exploited in the name of community support, as you mentioned, would take this as a learning experience and that it would ultimately help them become that much more determined to succeed.

Regards,

JS Malik

Uncle ji am agreed on all of your points, but only helping our peoples with providing funds or finances is not enough to do and as you said that if any one`s parents can afford to send their sibblings abroad doesn`t need any money, am agreed with this also but the question is that sometimes only money is not the factor but all that matters is the exposure one got by being in developed nation(s) and if most of us got money, but the thing is that even government got more money then NRI`s and even they provide that money for all those qualities orso called causes but still theie is no prevention we can notice, so there is a need of all those peoples who got this much exposure who atleast know what human rights are (as what they have enjoyed after being in developed nation) and to give the money provided by government or by other socities in right direction. MONEY is not a big problem but the problem lies in where that money is heading to. AUR uncle ji agar hum sub apney se neechey walon ko dekhkar aish karaingey to bechharey neechey waley to saree umar mehnat kar K hi ghis laingey wo beecharey aish kad karaingey.....(just kiddin)......

any ways uncle ji it all depends on personnal beliefs that what and how did they set their goals in life and how they are gonna implement them, but still what I feel is that there is a need for those NRI`s who really wanna do something........

Hi Pam

First of all i like to say tht the point u have raised really demands some good answers. One thing ur saying i stht money is not a problem than i ask u that wht is problem than. If in Haryana or other Jat states like Rjasthan, U.P etc. have enough money than whts the problem my friend. NOw u r saying one cannot serve their community while sitting in Videsh, i say a big no to this and the reason is tht if u have desire to serve ur people u can do it in several ways like u can sponsor a child whose studies is not going bcos of shortage of money, one can provide financial aid to village people and contribute with a big sum of money to get something done in the village. Now u r sayiong how u come to know tht ur money is heading in direct direction or not for tht thing u have to appoint someone who is trustworthy to u to have a eye on the money. Another thing u can help poor villagers in getting their girls married on ur own cost. U can open a free computer learning centre in ur village, u can open a free gym in ur village for the kids. If any guy or gal in ur village is good in sports than u can take this kid to upper level help him financially so tht he will turn in to a good sports person.
One Point u have raised is tht after 7-8 yrs NRIs who works like hell makes them financially secure and than if they have enough courage to serve their people they have to return back to India. I am agree on this view point but i added who works like hell cos u know abt income and expences of living in a forign country.
Another thing abt NRIs who says i will do this , i will do tht and in real life they exploit young students in their own business this is true and this needs something to be done, i know u have few examples with u but can u tell me wht u have done in reply to this kind of people, if u have not done anything on this point than dont u think its ur moral responsibility to take some action against this kind of JAt Businessman.
Nyway i m waiting for more replies on this thread.

Mr. Pahugat,
First of all I would like to wish you good-luck if you wanna serve our community or nation by living abroad.

Now as you said that our states haven`t got much money then I would like you to go through this link :-
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/605728.cms

And I think after this you would have known about the money status in all states you mentioned.
Also in overall rating all states you`ve mentioned are in top ten list of being richest states in INDIA with U.P on No. two spot.
Now about what the problem is I would say problem lies in us that we are the peoples who know about how to develop our community but still we keep on debating these issues rather then working on them physically and practically. We are the one who know how to distribute money in each and every section for developments. And even Government is providing funds for all those things you`ve mentioned (u can sponsor a child whose studies is not going bcos of shortage of money, one can provide financial aid to village people and contribute with a big sum of money to get something done in the village.) Govt. provides with scholarships for such pupils, provide money to help poor girls for their marriage, provides loans to jobless educated peoples for setting up small scale businesses(thats is another issue which business they must invest in to) etc. But the thing is that the money provided by Govt. is not going in right hands and that is why I said that it is not heading in right direction and I can`t see any chances that you can do this by sitting abroad.

ALSO as I said that you can help sitting abroad but only if you are exception (in terms of money only). But for this you need not as much but atleast to compare you with Mr. LAXMIKANT MITTAL. and if you are thinking of providing our community only with money for nothing then you are spoiling those individuals or groups who are benefitted by your funds and they are not giving you returns (in terms of welfaring our community or by giving the desired result). So they need back up if you are providing funds then you must keep backing them up or unless they will be used of getting this money sourced by you for nothing.

AND last but not least you said it`s my moral responsibility to take some action against these kinda businessman(s).

For this I would welcome your suggestion(s) how to take action against them?

And I think you can`t interfare in anyones business, or else they might can say who the hell you are to give me advice. So you can`t change peoples thinkings individually...... you need support to teach lessons, to such business peoples.

Cheers
