There is a Sad new for JATLAND…. Great Lyricist and Singer Choudhary Hardyaan Singh Sharawat passed away today in Rohtak. 75 years old Hardhyan Singh ji was a well known lyricist and singer for his Promotional songs and was favorite of Bansi Lal during his tenure our as Chief Minister of Haryana.
In early 70s when Prime Minister India Gandhi saw his performance and public reaction for his performance where he was singing a song in praise of Indira ji…MOTI KI POTI AR JAWAHAR KI JYOTY VIKAAS KI AANDHI INDIRA GANDHI…..and used typical Haryanavi humor punch in between of songs JANTA KAI INDIRA JI KA RAJ ISA LAGRYA SAI JANNU JACHCHA KAI JAPPE MAI GUUND LAGYA KARAI………on this point there was a huge laughter and clapping from the gathering…..INDIRA ji asked Bansi Lal about the meaning of the line…he explained her in English…she was very impressed by his talent and asked his presence in her 3 rallies in western UP. For that he got the PMO‘s special guest of honor and after those rallies she honored him at Prim Minister House by giving him a Check of Rs. 31000/- personally. And said….Bahut Achhe…”MILTE RAHNA” (This he explained to me in his last recorded Interview on Video in Feb-08 at his residence in Rohtak).
Hew was a true Jatland poet and used very rare Jattu words and sensibility in his poetry. For example he wrote line for Bansilal’s great effort of bringing electricity and canal water to deserted part of district Bhiwani.
“KHAMBE PAI KHAMBA YO KOD ACHAMBA KOL DIYA BUMBA LEELE JAL KA
MAHUU KI DHAANI JILA BHIWANI EB PIVAI PAANI SAB NAL KA”
We will remember him for his priceless song for our motherland forever…
“HARYANE KA HAR CHHORA 6 FEET KA LAGAI SAI
TAGADEPAN KA SABKE DIL MAI KHATKA LAGAI SAI”

“BHAGWAN UNKI AATMA KI SHANTI DE” & JATLAND KOU UN JAISE SAPUUT DE
