Rohtak, December 29
Local leaders and workers of the district unit of the Haryana Janhit Congress staged a demonstration in the city this morning in protest against the alleged murder bid on the sarpanch of Sanghi village in the district here on Saturday.

The party has demanded a CBI probe into the incident, alleging that it was a crime involving contractual killers, who had been hired to eliminate the sarpanch, but killed another person due to some confusion. The deceased had been identified as Ramesh Kumar, hailing from Dadri subdivision of Bhiwani district. He was fired upon by two youths at Sukhpura Chowk here on Saturday while he was sitting with a friend. He had died on the spot due to gunshots.

The police had arrested four persons, including the two main accused, who reportedly told it that they had been allegedly hired by two persons of Sanghi village to eliminate sarpanch Richhpal.

The HJC workers, led by former minister Krishan Murti Hooda and district unit chief of the party Vijender Singhal, submitted a memorandum to the Governor, through the local administration, seeking a CBI probe into the matter.PROGRESS MUBRIKH

My concern here is increse of crime in public life in India and Haryana. Innocent Ramesh of Dadri was killed mistake of
contract killing of Sanghi Sarpanch.
4 person were killed in Kharak Bhiwani 2 by police.
One innocent student was killed by police in Bhiwani.
Guest lady teacher was killed by police in Rohtak.
Rape in Rohtak police station.
These are facts. Crime is out of control.

Rohtak, December 27
A 52-year-old person was shot dead allegedly by two motorcycle-borne youths on the Hafed road near the Sukhpura Chowk locality here this morning. The assailants were reportedly nabbed by the police soon after the incident.

The victim, Ramesh Kumar, hailing from Dadri subdivision in Bhiwani district, had come here in connection with some work and was sitting with a property dealer when he was fired upon by the two youths with muffled faces. He died on the spot.

It is reported that the accused abandoned their motorcycle and took a lift in a car parked a few hundred metres away. The assailants were nabbed near Rithal village after being chased by a PCR vehicle. The police has registered a case of murder.

This is the 66th murder case in the district this year. About 55 murder cases had been registered by the police last year. The district has also witnessed a rise in the number of rape and abduction cases this year.

The district has witnessed a rise in the number of crime cases pertaining to murder, rape, abduction, burglary, extortion and robbery. Cases of dowry harassment have also increased this year. The district witnessed 11 more cases of murder this year.

There was a sharp rise in the number of rape cases. As many as 35 cases were registered under section 376 of the IPC against 17 last year. As many as 46 attempt-to-murder cases were registered till November-end this year against 47 last year. Till November-end this year, 27, 211 and 207 robbery, theft and burglary cases, respectively, were registered against a figure of 18, 190 and 183, last year.

Motor vehicle theft cases have also gone up from 250 to 340 during this period. There was an increase in the number of cases related to the Excise Act with the police registering over 650 cases against 250 last year.

The police has claimed success in working out a large number of cases. It said 48 cases of murder and all cases of rape had been solved by the police this year. The police had also arrested as many as 550 bail jumpers, 43 proclaimed offenders and 12 criminal gangs in this period.

We must support INLD-BJP alliance if they are relluctant of doing it, illegal mining is done in the entire sub-division, mainly jhojhu-atela range and the Environment & Forest Minister of the state is making huge ??? out of it. Ppl must come out to get their right. Anil you know the fate of Dada Dohla Mountain how it has been looted in a short period of time that is Disgraceful becoz it is related with our religious sentiments.

I visited Dada Dohla dhaam last month and saw that it's existance is on stake. No one is worried about future of this dhaam. Why Jaypee group people would be worried then. I met Kishori baba n he is seriously ill.

And .....so called.. local congressi leaders are no saying anything and big ones are making money in this situation.

Bhiwani constituency is like orphan due to younger brother of CHAAND MOHAMMAD. Hooda govt has forgotten that people of bhiwani had voted for "Congress" and not for "Bhajanlal's son". Then why congress is sidelining our area??

Whole of area is under noise and air pollution. Illegal mining is happening and Kiran chaudhary is promoting it for her benefits!!

And still Kiran chaudhary expects people to vote for her daughter in coming elections....my foot !!! Where was she when Surender used to commit henius crime ...crime aisa jisko batatey huye bhi sharam aaye insaan ko....!!! Woh khud toh dilli mein apne aaka logon ko khush karney mein lagi thee.... Khaalli thaaannn paa gya uss ne Surender k martey hi !!

Another mega power plant to come up in Jhajjar

The district is all set to organise the foundation stone laying ceremony of another mega thermal power plant having a capacity of 1320 MW in Khanpur Khurd village.

People of the region are enthused about this event to be organised on January 10 while on the other hand preparations are in full swing.

The district administration has been making elaborate arrangements for the free flow of vehicles and the safety of the people, who will participate in the function. Different routes have been decided to ensure smooth movement of vehicles coming to the venue.

Various roads, including Dadri, Matanhel, Chhuchhakwas, Jahajgarh and Beri road linking Khanpur Khurd village, are being re-carpeted or repaired. Besides, many other alternative roads have been prepared in order to check traffic congestion.

Taking a lesson from “bijli rally” held in October 2007, in Jharli village where scores of people could not reach due to traffic jam, the administration has decided to install a significant number of signboards at important places displaying the alternative routes leading to the venue. Apart from this, adequate numbers of police personnel would be deployed to regulate the vehicular traffic during the day.

Deputy commissioner Nitin Yadav said nearly six acres of land near the venue would be reserved for parking. Over 10,000 chairs would be placed for the comfort of the participants, who would be served sweets and other eatables by Jhajjar Power Limited.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be the chief guest on the occasion while several Congress leaders, including Motilal Vohra, in charge of the party affairs in the state, are expected to address the gathering.

According to reports, the 1320 MW plant, costing about Rs 6,000 crore, will be built by CLP Limited, a Hong Kong-based company, and it will begin generating power within the next three years.
