Presenting Scholar@SAP, an eight semester off-campus collaborative MS in Software Engineering program. SP Labs brings this unique vocational training in association with one of the India’s premier technical institutes, BITS Pilani, with faculty and the degree awarded by the institute itself!

SAP Labs is inviting applications for the batch starting in August 2010. if you are a student with 67% (aggregate) in B.Sc./BCA, along with 60% in standard 10 and 2 (II PUV), email your resume to scholar@sap.com before January 15, 2010.

First of all thanks a lot for posting this info.
Few queries.
1. As you mentioned, It is 8 Sem Off Campus MS. Does that means it is a 4year Masters course with no regular classes?

2. If so then whats the role of SAP?
Also, is there any theory curriculam at BITS or is itlike BITS will just define the course and conduct exams?
3. Also, can you please put some details about the syllabus?

What is it

  • Eight semester professional training program offered by SAP in partnership with IIIT-B and BITS-Pilani whereby the degrees will be provided by the institutes itself.
Objective of the program

  • To bridge the gap between what colleges offer and what the industry wants – a practical knowledge of industry realities among students and lack of people with advanced and specialized degrees.
  • To encourage students to go for advanced engineering degrees while getting professional training in parallel.
How it works

  • Under the program, promising students are selected though a rigorous technical entrance test and an interview on soft skills and behavioral analysis. Once selected, the students enroll in a post-graduate program with either IIIT-B or BITS-Pilani while spending a portion of their time working on a part time basis with SAP Labs. On successful completion of the program, students will get an offer to join SAP and are treated at par with experienced candidates.
Eligibility criteria (for the batch starting in Aug 2010)

  • 67% aggregate marks in B.Sc /BCA
  • Along with 60% marks in Standard 10 and 12 (II PUC)
  • For B.Sc. students the major subjects should be either of Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Information Technology or Statistics)

SAP launched this program first time in 2007. This unique program enables current students to transform into future employees with the best possible training, an understanding of diverse board areas and the option of deciding which board area they'd prefer to work with upon course completion.

In 2007 Program, SAP Labs India also paid Rs. 12,500 p.m. during the first 2 years and Rs. 25,000 p.m. in the last 2 years , in addition to paying the Tuition Fees for the academic program. Hence, there were no out-of-pocket expenses for the enrolled students.

I am not sure about this time what stipend they are offering. Once I get some information about this, shall let you know.

Is there any program in SAP LABS for experienced professional from software testing background?

Please let me know as I am looking to update my skill sets.
