“In the ordinary course of nature, thousands upon thousands are born everyday; but he alone is truly born whose birth leads to the elevation of his race- Hitopdesh”.

I’m sure a majority of us have always been touched by quotes like these and have experienced a momentary urge to do something or the other that would be of great value to the society at large and the community in specific. But that urge almost all the times gets countered by the various kinds of pressures that are a part and parcel of our daily routine. Things like a job shift, a refresher course, an additional increment, applying for plots, discussing politics, admissions for kids and so on usually leave us with very less time and inclination to do that extra bit, walk that extra mile for contributing to the elevation of the race and furthering the cause of promoting the community. Now, when I say all this standing here, I don’t actually want to convey that I don’t belong to the sample set that’s lost in the hype and hoopla of daily activities, responsibilities and chores. I strongly feel that I myself haven’t really been able to contribute to the cause despite of being a well read Jat and having an access to almost all kinds of media and resources that are required. Well, better late than never and I’ve made this beginning today by taking out time from my usual scheme of things and deciding to share my views with everybody present here on how much we’re losing on our identity and pride and how can we move forward on the path to undo the damage that has already happened!
