Shocked by the Law and Order in India

I saw this news and I could not believe what I saw. It is a recorded video of a police cop in uniform who died in an ambush. Even when there were so many people there, specially politcal leaders and government officials, there was no medical help. I just wanted to express the depressive state of my mind through this thread. There is absolutely no value and respect for a human life in India. Apparently the cop died after sometime but still there was no medical help. It is utterly shocking.

Is this for real? I mean what the &$#&!! All those people watching...what are they scared of, to help the dying man!

This is hard to believe!!!..%&*$ these people watching the drama!

I can not even begin to imagine that one can behave like this, what if someone close to 'em is dying on middle of the road..would they still be equaly impotent!! What a shame!

A shocker, to say the least, and yet another eye opener of conditions and people back there!

That Inspector played important role in the encounter of Veerapan and he govt double promotion for that.. Salute to such a brave soul..

I am feeling like spit on those bloody ministers who didn't even bother to stop and take him to the hospital...

timesnow shows this headline.. "scared to help a dying man". i agree its inconsiderate of those who just came n saw n offered no help. really, i do! but did someone ask what the heck this courageous timesnow cameraman was doing? ..morally insensitive media.

I think most channels had the same visuals. It is possible that some "insensitive" guy, who was part of the caravan, shot it on his mobile/camera and passed it on the mainstream media. Don't think mainstream media would be travelling on an obscure trip. This is just an educated guess.

Or may be he/she did help after shooting the "insensitivity" of people around!! In many such cases, even the mainstream media personal do look like 'insensitive'... I mean they shot the 'horrors' of riots or the mob lynching a person over some petty incident without helping the victims directly. It is easy to blame the media for this apparent 'insensitivity' but at least they are bringing the 'true face' of janta. When large crowd is involved in 'crimes' (such as riots), reporters do 'this' by "jaan hatheli pe rakh kar" which i believe is a great thing to do.
Of course, the present case is much different than riots but the theme is same. Media's duty is to bring out the news as the 'news' is... without being a part of the 'news'. Yes, it is true that this was about a man's life and the media (if it was main stream media) could have helped the dying man and could have report their 'nice deed' along with people's insensitivity later. But then this is one's judgement call. More than media i will accuse the ppl around the dying man.

that it sure is...monkeys up with their menacing..not all but most of them..just sensationalising and getting their nickers in a big twist on every miniscule opportunity.
of course they risk their lives, but moreso to get the fodder..
n yeah, Indian govt. just told them to shut up!

this is ridiculous! watz the need of the hour? to help a dying man get to hospital or to show the real face of people? n equally ridiculous is any assumption tht u made about my post comparing the insensitivities of general public n media. I never compared them. all present thr r equally guilty of being 'scared' NOT JUST THE PUBLIC.

yaah.. its ridiculous!! :-)

you can find such kind of incidents every where . People does not bother about what is going in on their way whether somebody is dying or living. No body want to involve thier self in curubersome process of investigation and judicail process..who cares about all these things. even human being is not understading the pain of other human being. it's shame to be human.

Shame on u Indian media..u could not be further from truth regarding the recent attacks on Indians
if u bother, read the comments here by Indians living in Oz..(highlighted in yellow)

There has to be more than meets the eye, I do see some neta calling ambulance service to scene. Not sure what other people were suppose to do except giving comfort to the dying men. Not many people have rudimentary knowledge in providing medical aid in emergency. Atleast some one should have given some water, put pressure on his wound, given him comfort.

I am at loss to understand what does incidence in Aus has to do with the dying cop in India.

Anyways staying on topic, more I dig in this story more I am flabbergasted with reaction of everyone including people standing around, Local Administration, Village people, Ambulance not responding. But again, this pathetic callous and insensitivity is nothing new, if some people remember Bhuj earthquake, the rescue effort was hampered by the presence of thousands of people who went there to look at the aftermath of destruction. Only people who responded with zeal and purpose were Indian Army troops who despite all odds did rescue hundereds of people with their bare hands whilst rotting dead bodies all around them. Alot of troops did get sick from bacteria, flies and stench of dead bodies.
Like some member said before,,,,,This is India, nothing will ever change here. More things change more they remain the same.

Bhai, aisa pehle bhi ho chuka hai. I remember a news where a guy at Noida and Delhi border met with an accident. yeh bhai bike par tha or subah subah office ja raha tha. Due to the impact of teh accident he got stuck in the grill between the road divider and died after an hour on the same spot. The reason was that police from Delhi and Noida were arguing each other over the jurisdiction.

Baki Michael Jackson wali aapki news thodi incorrect hai, the guy with him was his cardiac specialist and he called the ambulance and also tried to revive MJ. Unfortunately MJ could not be revived.

I stand corrected bashing western countries is a full time job of some people in India. Finally I have an epiphany albeit with serendipty. I love this JL forum.
