Singh - Why
As far as I understand from my grandfather, Jat started using singh since Rajput claimed and forced also that no one other then them can use Singh in their name. Jats being always being proud and non-defying for this kind of power show, started using Singh to show that they can also use this and no one can stop them doing this.

Very Well said Satbir , in my family people have used Singh & Kumar in my generation & my father & all his brothers used SINGH,
