sachi muchi batao,,,, kya kabhi aapne sishil ki kushti bhi dekhi hai??? mujhe lagata hai ki nahi dekhi, isliye aapne jab pehli baar usse gum chaabte dekha to aap sunnnn ho gayee sadme ke maare

Iss thread ne to meri aankhein hi khol di...............Now I am really going to RE-CONSIDER my opinion:P

Now I am thinking may be i was jealous of Sushil kumar's guts......actaully i guess it statred wen i was thrown out of french lecture at college for chewing gum.....n i was just seeking a chance where i cud find someone else guilty(Poor Sushil)......

Now onwards I will also try to be TRUE JAT(won't listen to something against any jat).............probably will start chewing gum(again)....at important occasions......

Hi Rekha,

Different cultures, different environment and different person has different norms for social behaviour. Like in some countries eating in front of others in public place isnt rude but some people in china and india and other such countries would find it rude. There could be lot many examples like this. For me, it wasnt that offensive to anyone, in general. However we all have our own views based on the norms we follow and cherish.

Showing finger is offensive everywhere in all countries, as far as I know.

Vipin,

In India, Eating in front of others in public place is neither rude nor offensive. Don't you see stalls on public places where people eat in front of public.

I didn't mean a stall and road side dhabas which are places to eat. I meant like eating on street. This is considered rude or ill-manner by many people in China and India, its widely not appreciated. Another one could be opening gifts in front of others isnt good manner in India but in many countries you will see un-opening your gift would be considered 'strange'. There could be many examples like this. Anyway that wasnt the point what i meant basically is different groups, cultures, people have different social norms. Which I guess is true.

examples mentioned by you do not make chewing gum at a national level ceremony appreciable act.I am not saying sushil behaved casually with any ill intention.QUOTE=VipinJyani;254158]I didn't mean a stall and road side dhabas which are places to eat. Please dont take things out of context. Read my original post, on previous pages. I just said I didnt find it offensive (Chewing Gum). I also said different people have different views on social norms and I respect that. If you find this bad than its OK. Where was I proving what you are saying above?

what about posts like these.rekha is one of the oldest member of jl and to address her with such words is totally unacceptable.forget about charles and shushil.we should learn to behave descently with each other here.this is the reason so many ppl has stopped writing.bcoz of being bullied by these cyber bullies.mods normally do not delete their posts or really cares....

If you are saying that in India, eating in front of public is offensive then O.P is from India and going by your logic she should feel offensive and she has rightly pointed it out.

I second your thoughts and this could, perhaps, be my last post on this thread in the present atmosphere. Hope moderators will tolerate at least this much.

Hey Atish, sorry to quote you. I actually wanted to quote Vipin's post. In India even pissing and pooing isn't offensive in public so why make an issue of Sushil's gum chewing.?? :D

I totally agree with Rekha jee. We definitely accept that Sushil is a great pride for us but as he is the face of our Nation, he should have told or should know how to behave and lead the Nation. some of our brothers commented that being a sportsman it was okay he was chewing gum but that time he was not playing in the field. we should accept our faults and should try to mitigate this kind of mistakes.
Hence request every body not to take Rekhajee's thread in lighter way. She is absolutely right.

Thanks to all of you.
