Tewatia is one of the few big/biggest gots of Jats which is found among Jats n Jats only. Its unlike gahlotes/rawats/dagars etc. which are found among other castes also in India.

The migrations of the Teutons and the Cimbri

The Teutons or Teutones (from Proto-Germanic *Þeudanōs) were mentioned as a Germanic tribe in early historical writings by Greek and Roman authors such as Strabo and Velleius. According to Ptolemy's map, they lived on Jutland, whereas Pomponius Mela placed them in Scandinavia (Codanonia)[1]. German historians did not associate the name Teutons with their Proto-Germanic ancestors until the 13th century.
More than 100 years Before Christ many of the Teutones, as well as the Cimbri, migrated south and west to the Danube valley, where they encountered the expanding Roman Empire.
During the late 2nd century BC, the Teutons are recorded as marching south through Gaul along with their neighbors, the Cimbri, and attacking Roman Italy. After several victories for the invading armies, the Cimbri and Teutones were then

Tebatiya, Taptiya, Tebhatiya, Tabatiya, Tevatia, Tewatia, Teotia, Teutia, Tewatian (like aryan from arya similarly tewatian/teotian/teutian/teutonic from tewatia, if I'm not mistaken Tewatian/Teutonic can be compared to Aryan or more than that as Jat is more than Aryan), Teotian, Teutian, Teuton.......... all are interchangeable as per grimms law of variation.

Tewatiaji, Last week I bought Herodotus's Histories for just 1$ +shipping, online deal... He talks about schythians and other central asian tribes, will write in details about it but I don't know how much relvence it has to Jat history... what you writing here is also not clear... what proofs are there between Teuton and tewatia beside coincidental name matching... it might be true but people need convincing proofs to believe...
anyway good luck

my chacha was vakeel means lawyer. he was called ukeel in Braj at Palwal. That means V becomes U. You call it Raav but write Rao in English where V becomes O. Similar as Tevatia/Tevatia in Haryana becomes Teotia in UP. You know its Bheem (in mahabharat) but a punjabi Jutt will call it as Peeemm. Where B/bh is going to P like Teb/Tao/Tab is becoming Tap all meaning the same as heat/garmi/fire etc. Similarly you can yourself derive Grimms law. And study it in detail its basically this only.

When the words move from one language to another one in Indo European (Jat/Aryan) languages they just dont match or deviate incidentally but due to certain fixed laws. Similarly Tewatia is not resembling Teuton incidentally but due to some fixed laws.

Regarding herodotus and his writings he was fortunate enough to write about Jats and hence recognised as FATHER OF HISTORY. Jats in fact were and are the makers of history since the dawn of history. The kind of which was never made before!!!!!!

otherwise also as I mentioned that tewatias are found among Jats and Jats only, similar is coming in europe, Teutons are invariably associated with Juts there. Then, that way Jut with Jat is also incidental??? Again have you noticed a place in Jutland named as ijjesselmeir. Can you compare it with Jaisalmer in Rajasthan where Jats are the largest community. Then Sirohi....

For grimm's law http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimm's_law
Lots of example of similarity of sanskrit and persian words also use similar exchange of one letter...e.g. famous s/h substitution... like asura/ahura, saraswati/harawati, sindhu/hindhu...

SKji, plz keep discussion on the topic, how does prithvi raj chauhan relate to tewatia topic?... there is separate thread for that... generally bashing rajputs in every thread is also not good... BTW I agree with you in most of you say about them...

sanskrit and persian are just two of the indo european dialects. so just s and h substitution is not enough. tewatias just did not cross from persian to sanskrit only or vice versa. indo european languages till today are the largest of n e group. Tewatias encountered many many of such languages.

I remember that in my language braj at palwal there was no word as "V". All called V as B only. And hence Tebatiya and not Tewatia they pronounced it.

Imagine just crossing Yamuna in Braj language itself in about 100 kilometers Tewatia is changing to Teotia. How far is Jutland and Europe then? Its not Tewatia that can be matched in Europe almost all Jat gots can be matched with Europeans surnames. I've described the list in my thread earlier "Roots of Jats in the World"

Some researchers have (controversially) proposed other supergroupings.

I've earlier mentioned that Tapti river is called Tapi also. Tap in hindi means heat or fire (say Taapmaan means temperature). Its again not surprising that Tabti/Tebti is fire goddess of persians.

After that there are other proofs too. Why Teuton appears with Jutland. Why Ijjeselmeir ( resembling Jaiselmer of Rajasthan) is there in Jutland.

Dr. K P Jaiswal comments on certain coins found at Ujjain. The word Tabti/Tabiti is written on one side. Other side is perhaps tree and fish or piece of land. Dahiya describes them as the symbols of Jats meaning Dharti (land) and Pani (Water). These coins mark the presence of Tewatias at Ujjain as some powerful people. River Tapti is not very far from there. Which is named after Tewati/Tebati.

Lft R S Joon derives Tewatias from Sibi/Sibia Jats from Punjab. It is however not true. Tewatias are as old as sibias n perhaps older. They are not found n e where in Punjab. Directly they start from Braj area. Which (i e Braj) was not included in Cyrus territory. When Manda empire of Jats was usurped by Darius/Cyrus etc. Many jats were persecuted. those Jats who remained over there accepted his authority. But who did not do so had to flee from there. It was during this period that Tewatias came to their present place. Their total absence in upper punjab and modern upper haryana region till today is purely due to political reasons of that time.

Chasing his opponents, particularly Tewatias Cyrus came as far as to Punjab. Punjab formed the 21st and richest state of cyrus/iranian empire. Hence, Tewatias , therefore, had to settle outside his area.

However, sibias too are found invariably along with tewatias/teutons in europe and jutland also. they were ruling over chittore where their coins have been found. that time it was known as jittore/jattore/jattarore. However, till today gehlotes are found among rajputs but mauryas and sibias are missing.

while even after settled in India their memories of their lost empire remained fresh for hundreds of years. thats why almost all villages of tewatias are persian named. Janauli, Palwal-compare it with ahmad shah raza pahalvi of Iran., batana..

Ujjain in those days was another power centre of Jats. So much so that without Jats it could not be imagined. I've already quoted Sunda inscription of Chavunda saying that like Mathura can not be imagined without Krishna similarly Ujjain is known due to Jats (Gutasya Putra). These bhatonian/Batanian/ecbatanian tewatias had their power centre there also. where their coins have been found.

Similarity of Tebat with Tewatia is also not incidental. Budhist sources of Tibet throw some light on the naming of Tibet. Jats contributed a lot to the spread of budhism. Most of the Jat emperors were Budhists. When first tewatia reached the highest plateau of the earth, people called them tebad, tebat, meaning ye tebats, ye budhist, etc. And thereafter the name of this plateau was known as Tebat.

I've seen one Budhist monastry in Spiti valley of Himanchal Pradesh, where now no Jats or Dhankhar are there. But its a big/huge fort and its name is DHANKHAR. I've quoted it here to show that Jats in ancient times spread Budhism in hilly areas and named many places after them.
