Dear all:
Here is something I scribbled from my
observations on the busy Washington Beltway
during my long daily commute...
**************************************
Perched on a dainty wooden cross
Peaking through withered meadow grass
A crumpled garland adorns
The lonely roadside grave
A eulogy without words;
A poem without verse
Beneath the surface lie
Sacred remains of forsaken human
I pause wondering
About the ephemeral life
A beautiful reflection
On the snow covered hills
A mystique above
Fog shrouded cliffs?
A thunder above mountains high
An illusion in the distance
With a painful torrid sigh
I wonder
Why does the heart ache
And fire burns out
The rain sets in, but tears dry
The music stops
But a vacant gaze remains
Why?
