History: Analyze it Objectively

Dear Friends,

I was reading a book yesterday and found some thing that attracted me and motivated me to post a few quotes from the book here. It will help our passionate people to analyze things, may be more objectively and with a wider perspective:

The first is about History: The author talks about two books on history: 1. Empire of the Sand, and 2. Peacemakers

"these two books are very controversial, because history is not always as objective as we think. We all come to the past with our present day prejudices fully intact, however much we try to get rid of them. Not only that, but the more recent the history we are dealing with, the more it is in and of itself as aspect of the prejudice of our interpretation."

The second quote by author is:

"Facts are often disputable, their interpretation open to the influence of passionately held views that are wildly divergent."

I think that aboe quotes will help all of us to analyze the subjects more objectively.
