Pilani!

Sanjay Bhai and Sheorayanji, thanks for the posts...

I too came back from India (and Pilani) about a month back! Man, what a time with friends eating 'Teetar's' (the bird) on cold winter nights...the place is still charming as ever. It was nice to see the new Supermarket (a mall kinda concept) inside the campus, and the world class (what Architecture and design) Library for the BITS college. It was also proud to know that it was designed (and figured in 'Inside-Outside' magazine) by a fellow Architectural colleague from my College (Sanjay Mundra)....

Anyways, Sheorayanji...have a great time there in good ol' Pilani and if you do meet up with someone who might be a common acquaintance (not difficult in a small place like Pilani) then please do pass on my regards and a big Hello! (and let's talk once you get back, if you did find anyone we both know...)... I miss that place already!

Sanjay Malik bhai, I was able to get Sameer Nagpal's contact info this time when in Pilani (yes, he was an amazing Badminton player) and it was good to know that he his actually here in the US right now...haven't been able to look him up as yet, but that is on the top of my priority list right now...will keep you posetd on that!

Dear Shailendra and Sanjay,
Thanks for the posting. I have already been to Ludhiana and conveyed your regards to Ludhiana party. Next stop is Gurgaon, Delhi, Rohtak and then Rajasthan. Hope to spend Holi (14 March) in the village which is not far from Pilani. On Pilani bus stand we have a relative who runs Electrical store. His name is Sh. Darya Singh ji.
The weather is unusually warm this time. Therefore we have to modify travel plans and spend more time at each place rather than making repeated trips to home town.

Will keep you posted.

That s really good to be in home town, sheorayanJi.
Enjoy your visit!!

That's correct C-not!(we do not want to be confused with Cannaught place!;) )
Shiv Ganga was famous for a lot of things (right Pankaj? LOL  ) but man the canal waters there used to be perfect for throwing in people and jumping in during HOLI!!!...
You know I am in Urban Planning and design but man, I can't help but mention that small itsy-bitsy BITS campus was designed to perfection with these amazing moments and places built/sprinkled around so strategically that you could actually walk from one into the other! One could lead out from the Dorms/hostel and spend some time at the Birla mandir (jai ho Saraswati maa ki!) and then walk down a green trail into Shiv Ganga (that had a circular canal/waterway that even had a boat launching structure) to finally end up into the 'Village center' that was the C-not market! All this built so long ago....Amazing! It could surely be called a little gem of a place tucked away in the heart of the area!

Chikara saab, kaunsae year main the BITS mein? Yaar hats off to you for being able to be in their; competeing well against those bookworms 'brainy' mallu's and illad's! Dil kush ho gaya!... What were the subjects you were in?Let me know the time you were there and maybe we can try and come up with some common names!... (You can message me later if you prefer, would surely love to talk more about Pilani and Pilaniwallas!)
