There is lot of difference between two. Unbiased person works for society and the diplomat works for his own interests. Diplomacy is the art of hiding things and also telling things in a way so that they are palatable to the other side. Unbiased person takes his audiences to a higher platform and tells about larger interests of society depending his/ her own vision. Let us not forget that we human being have all the traits in us. We are known by the trait which is most dominant in us. This does not mean that other traits are totally absent. It takes lot of hard work to practice traits like diplomacy and truthfulness.

The Oxford Dictionary mentions the meanings as follows:

Diplomat: (noun) An official representing a country abroad.

Unbiased (also Unbiassed) (adjective) : showing no prejudice; impartial.

But today, the assumed or imaginary meanings of many words could be several-fold - for example, the Sanskrit/Hindi word 'Guru' is a word of respect but today, in Bollywood films or Mumbai-tone, it could mean the Head of a gangster gang. Similarly, in India, 'master' could mean a tailor or a carpenter. Americans call Condaleeza Rice as their 'top diplomat', though she is not posted abroad. So, for multiple or assumed meanings of such words, other synonyms should better be used.

Unbiased Vs Diplomat

Totally agreed with the RK Sir on this.

Unbiased status is when we don't carry any perception for any thing/person/situation or not having pre conceived notion for any thing/person/situation. Most of the times we take our decisions or action based on our perception. But when we look for a matured and open behaviour in multi-culture or ambigious situation its very important that we shouldn't carry any perception which means a trait to unbiasness.

Where as diplomat is a person who is having the tact of handling the situation hiding the telling the half truth or partial or maniuplating the things/data at different time/situation/person. This doesnot include tempering with the data/information, but its a way of playing with it.

Unbiased behaviour comes at the level of observation or analysis whereas diplomacy is the way of implementing the observation or analysis.

or I will say it is two sides of coins which can complement each other.....
