Correspondence degrees in Technical Education are not recognised by AICTE in India. So please check AICTE websites before going for it. Full time and part time are acceptable.

He can try for part time / distance learning with some classes every year but not correspondence.

Friend,

When you have Master of Science in CS, you need not go in for M.Tech. Elect to go in for Ph.D [or NET] if you want to join teaching line/research field.

Even if you are inclined to do M.Tech., then, first check if the Part time/Distance Education courses offered by some of the universities are meant for B. Tech or MSc degree holders only. And simultaneously also keep in mind Mr. Sangwan's above quoted need of checking from AICTE about the validity of the degree being offered.

Thanks

Correspondence degrees in Technical Education are not approved by AICTE might be true. Please visit http://www.aicte-india.org/edistanceedu.htm

I would like to mention here:
1. M. Tech. in any science/engineering subject requires 4 year degree course as essential qualification. After B. Sc. + M. Sc. Previous (Ist year of Master in science degree course) is equivalent to B. Tech. qualification.
2. Any student who have already got M. Sc. degree, M. Tech. wont be useful since both are Master degree. However M. Tech. is more preferred for industrial job profiles.
3. M. Tech. program includes one year project (in final year) which is key point for individual for searching of specific job and lead to foundation of future perspectives of individuals. Henceforth, If someone want to do M. Tech. as distance learning is useless.
4. For research/technical/IT professionals, Distance learning M. Tech. program is good enough to improve CV for making strong profile to get help in promotions and salary.
5. Now, B. Tech. degree qualifiers are eligible to write CSIR-UGC NET Exam and can join PhD program directly without having Master degree.

If you have some specific service in mind for e.g. Engineering core of Army or any other service (which at one point of time might be requiring a specific degree such as M.Tech), then i can see the use of second Masters degree, otherwise there is no point in gathering similar type of degrees.

If you are a technical person, the best option is to jump into practical work in industry taking into consideration one technology such as Java or C#, make sure the project is considering one particular programming language. In addition to this keep your other skill set up to date such as php, xml, servers, software architectures etc.
