What do you like about India? I criticize India at times, others do that too. It is not my country but I am Indian so I am interested in knowing your honest views about India.

What I like abt India ... hmm the list is so long that I cant type my points here dude. Please dont count the shortcomings and negatives, I am aware of that but still the list of good things is too big to fit here

To be Indian doesnt mean your country is India. To be Indian means you have a background from India and the like.
The country that you should regard as your country is the country you live in because thats called patriotism which more than 60% of Indians lack and makes us look bad.

The old Architectural heritage (be it Temple, Palace, or Fort architecture), its monuments….the nostalgia of an era long gone
….simply the wonderful romance and ambiance of the land!
…..and thus that enduring aura and unique personality it lends itself to….us Indians!!!

There is no country like India, no one was and no one will be
India is greatest country in the world, the most recent proof of which is the finding of water on moon by India, while USA and other countries had tried a lot for that but the extreme power (or god) which is running this world chose only India to have the credit. India has produced a lot of super humans like Lord Shiva, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna & Buddha. USA, UK and all other countries celebrate the festivities on the name of god they have not produced (Xmas on Jesus Christ), but India is the only country in the world which can celebrate the festivities on the name of the gods who born in India (Diwali on the name of Lord Rama, Janamashtami on the name of Lord Krishna etc.). Not only this but India has produced the gods for other countries too (Buddha for China, Japan and many of other Asian countries. That's why I like India very much

Ethnicity and Nationality are two distinct parameters that can be used to determine a person,s identity. Aman could be an American Indian ( born in America of Indian Parents). Thus his Nationality is American but Ethnicity is Indian

भारत कि सामाजिक व् सांस्कृतिक विवधता की सारी दुनिया कायल है ! जैसा कि शैल भाई ने लिखा है, इसकी पुरातन इमारती व् शिल्पकला सम्बन्धी धरोहर नायाब है !
अध्यात्मिक परिपक्वता, इसकी असली शक्ति है, जिसका लोहा सारा विश्व मानता आया है !

देश महान ऐतिहासिक इमारतों से नहीं होता, न ही नदियों और पर्वतों से होता है देश महान वहां रहने वाले लोगों के आचरण और विचारों से होता है, हम सब जानते है की भारतवासियों का आचरण अब पतित हो चुका है, भ्रस्थाचार, अन्याय, आर्थिक शोषण, पर्यावरण प्रदुषण, सामाजिक कुरीति, पाखंड, जातिवाद, लूटपाट, वोट बैंक राजनीती , घटने का नाम नहीं ले रहे. न भाषा अपनी रही है, न भूषा अपनी , न भोजन अपना, न संस्कृति अपनी, मानसिक गुलामी मैं हम लोग जी रहे हैं , तो आप लोगों को क्या महान नज़र आ रहा है भारत में? अभी एक धागा चल रहा था की जाट हो या इंडियन, अधिकतर लोगों ने कहा की जाट पहले है, इंडियन बाद मैं, तो तब कहाँ गयी देशभक्ति?
यहाँ बात इतिहास की नहीं हो रही, हम मानते है की कभी यहाँ की संस्कृति विश्व की संस्कृति थी, ये विश्व गुरु था , भरत जैसे राजाओं का चक्रवर्ती साम्राज्य था अर्जुन, भीम, जैसे योधा थे, ज्ञान विज्ञान मैं बहोत उन्नति थी, ये देश वास्ता मैं महान था, पर वो भूतकाल की बात है
प्रशन तो वर्तमान का है की क्या भारत आज भी महान है? आज २००९ मैं भी क्या भारत मैं कुछ सकारात्मक हो रहा है ? तो हमें ये बात स्वीकारनी चाहिए की भारत देश आज महान नहीं है, हाँ महान बन जरुर सकता है अगर हम इसकी समस्याओं पर ध्यान दे और झूठी तारीफ करने से बचे . नहीं तो आई लव माय इंडिया, इंडिया मेरे खून मैं है आदि आदि कहने से कुछ नहीं बनेगा,

Another question, is there any term like American ... if yes then who are they because there is nothing of their own ... all are immigrants ... Do Americans call them Americans or British???
If he had said I am an Indian but I live in US then no issues or his origin is India. Without being ones country one can't be Indian, that what I think.
Please clarify and point out where I am wrong.
Does that 60% Indians include people whose country is not India as per your definition?
