Dear Niti,

You have not hurt my sentiments atleast. Why I felt pained was because of the fact that you tried to compare two communities, while they are not actually two. All Jat Sikhs were first Jats and then only adopted Sikh Religion/way of life. Most of them don't even follow the true Sikh Religion. I have seen many of them smoking, even though it is against their religion.

What I have tried to explain in my post is that each sect of society has its good and bad points. We can't declare a particular society good or bad, by achievements/failure of one single person or family.

The people who are good, they don't need self praise to prove their worth. People judge us by our actions/ deeds. Why people in Punjab are more advance is not because they are Jat Sikhs there, but because of the infrastructure that existed there in past, which was better than other parts of the country. Imagine an age of where only means of communication was by postal mail, with very few such facilities existing, in remote areas. Probably the existence of GT Road from Shershah Suri's time was one of the reason of the entire belt along our old GT Road, which includes Punjab looking more developed than other parts. Even in Punjab, areas along GT road are comparatively more developed than those not close to GT Road. Similarly the existance of rivers had given more opportunities to the people of Punjab then say in the areas where only rain was source of irrigation in past. The attitude and actions of the people are very much affected the environment that they live in. Geography of the regions has played a major role in development of the societies.

No one is PERFECT...

Dear All & Hi Niti,

Most of what I wanted to say has been said by Col Tavathia. Can't blame him because we are products of the same training institutions.

A lesson one should learn from this discussion is to never generalise and make sweeping comments about an individual, a group or a community. I too have numerous examples to give 'For and Against' Jatt Sikhs or for that matter ourselves to prove a point. But then it would be individual examples. Let us not forget that historically, geographically and culturally, we all belong to same or similar stock and have same qualities. What we do with those qualities is a different matter and it depends on 'bringing up', 'opportunities', may be 'luck' and 'individual effort'.

Allow me to give a personal example. A junior golf tournament was in progress at Mumbai almost two years back in which my son was also participating. As most of the parents accompany their children, I and Paro (my wife) too had gone to witness the tournament. My son did not play too well on the third day and I was trying to pep him up. I told him that so and so had played so well today. My son gave me the coolest look and commented "Good for him Papa". A 17 year old boy had indeed taught me a very important lesson in life. From then on I have only one advice for him: KEEP HITTING BALLS.

Therefore, Mrs Niti, if you have found such lovely people in Jatt Sikhs, all I can say is GOOD FOR YOU. Have a wonderful life and prosper.

Regards,

JS Malik

They are comparable.

I know two Kuam inception are from same shoot. We campare two similar things we can't comapare Donkey with Lion....But Tiger and Lion are comparable...and while comparing law of average apply. My idea to start this thread to Boost our Jat Bhai to work hard and try to catch their counterpart.

Dear jagmohan ji..!!

Nice to read your poignant and very humble stroy....But can't infer why you are rambling all this........i find hard to relate this with our thread

Request....................

Hello Niti and everybody...
whatever is going on ....i think that is worthless....totally...
Niti if u really want to encourage jas to do some gr8 things ..then there could be another way also...but by comparing sikh jats and haryanvi jats..i dont know what would be the result...
I think ..Jat is a jat....whether haryanvi, sikh, Up or rajasthani.........
there is no discremenation between them.....
About Jat's personality....i would like to say that a jat is a brave caste...(Kaum)...jat will always keep his/her words..in any case....hard working..
and lots of other characteristics.....
so pl'z dont compare ....
and i request others also not to comment in blunt way.......
After marriage if any girl finds her laws family so nice ..then it's really gr8..and this should be in each and every case...
so pl'z dont make a statement.."kuch dino bad poochenge ki aab bata sasural ke bare mein"
It's a humble request to all of u to make some helthy discussion...and useful for jat community....
hope u al will cooperate..............

Don't Misunderstand...

Mrs Niti,

What I have 'rambled' not only relates to this thread but also to life in general. If one wants to understand it, it can be read between the lines. At least that is I what think but I may be wrong as 'No one is perfect'.

And who am I to teach humanity? Point conceded.

I shall try to be more specific next time and not give personal examples if that is what has troubled you. And I haven't said anything against Jatt Sikhs either.

Please believe me I really wish you well and Congratulate you for finding so much happiness and contentment.

Regards,

JS Malik

This thread is absolutely pointless.

And this is coming from someone who's mother is a Jat Sikh lady.

Moderators - please lock this thread up as it is likely to descend into hurt sentiments and gaalia.

And the analogy of 'lion & tiger' analogy is ridiculous.

Regards,

Ram Ram.

baat sambhaal rahe ho

niti madam, abhi aap baat ko sambhaal rahe ho. In the begining you were using rude words. You said "Sikh Jat can beat us hollow on any day" and that he is very colourful and pata nahin kya kya. Aap apni mitti ko bhool gaye. Well, my village 'Kheri Jat' is a very small village, my chacha wears a soiled kurta pyjama and works in the fields, i love even the smell of my village. People there dont do Bhangra or wear colorful dresses like punjab but thats what we are. You were definitely looking down on us in your initial post. It was wrong.
have a good time, God bless you

Arrogant And Haughty

Niti, I will take this as your reply to my very simple questions(though still i feel that you are avoiding my straight forward questions).
I was waiting for your reply to answer the way i am doing now(though i should have done it much earlier but i was just giving you time to correct yourself)
Since the beginning of this thread all written communication by you has clearly reflected your sever arrogant and complicated haughty nature.
The below quote of yours is just a veneer of truth.
It is amply clear from your thread that you have written this with a revengefull motive, though now you are not showing courage to accept it but atleast you know it very well. There is something which have hurted you on this site, thats why you used the words like NERDY & statement like that any JAT SIKH can beat a HARYANVI.
I dont know by which mean you are considering JAT SIKHS as sccessful and HINDU JAT as backward, so listen:-
In Army we are told that there are GOOD OFFICERS & there are SUCCESSFUL OFFICERS, and we are told to put our efforts to become GOOD OFFICERS "FIRST". And same holds true for GOOD COMMUNITY & SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY.
To become successful only one requires the following traits:-
1. One should be SYCOPHANT- which we jats still lacks(I think you were mentioning this vitue as missing from hindu jats).
2. One should be YES MAN- again we jats lack this virtue also.
3. One should be MAUKA PRAST, means he should be ready to cut anybody's Neck for personal gains- We lack this virtue also.
4. Illegal methods to migrate to foreign countries-we have never preffered to be "KABOOTAR".

And there are many virtues which are mendatory to become successful, but we take pride being called a straitforward, honest, blunt, brave, courageous and hardworking community.

What is Jaat Personality ..?

After rambling through all sorts of nerdy topics on this jatland.....I jolted by thought of puting some worth -wile ....I wonder what is typical jaat personality.....I had grown with haryanvi jaat and now married in Sikh jaat community.......!!

The typical Sikh jaat is an extrovert, a sociable fellow who likes to eat well, dress well. Even if he’s in a tight spot he would like to twirl his moustache and say "Chardi kala" ("on the up and up") to those who ask how he’s getting on. He learns quickly and assimilates new cultures without difficulty; family honour is sacrosanct to him, but in other matters he tends to be liberal minded. I find these virtue missing in our kaum of Haryanvi Jaat. It is a matter of pride to be "up to date". I admire Jaat sikh his enterprise and capacity to work hard are legendary and his deepest ambition is to "be his own boss":

Any way no grudges just want simple dissusion as I myself is one haryanvi jaat at the end of day.

Niti

Response From JATNIS

I am yet to see any response about this controversial thread from any JATNI(be it for or against), is there any tacit understanding among jatnis :) or they are too busy in work or they are intelligent enough to sense this thread as worth noit discussing.
Please dont see this statement of mine as a sarcastic one, because that is not the intention.

Baaki mannai to Uday bhai ki baat bi thik lagi....vo jyada experienced admi sai jatland site ke bare main.

Personality can be compared between two human being only.

Hi Niti,
you should remember basic rule that Personality can be compared between two human being only.

Whatever!

...Oye theek hai yaar...
If it is a fight someone wants they will get it!

The fact is and I am sure the members will agree with me that there are a lot of wannabe's out there who want to be called 'Jat's' or 'Jaatni's' with whatever it takes!!!... only when they open their mouth and their complete and total ignorance of knowing what it means to be part of that kaum shows that dhoodh ka doodh, paani ka paani ho jaata hai!... This literally smells like a case of sour grapes more than anything else! ....

Bhai jisne yo hi bera na ho ke JAT maane ke; usne kyane smjhaan laag rahe ho, yaaron???

Bhai logo is thread ki " MANNNAT" chayye no. of hits \ treply ki badhane ki ho ya fir kuch or ...????? ( Internet wale JAT kati pakkam pakka samajdhar hote hain )

But..Kintu..Prantu.. Yaddpi..kadapi...Ignorance of “Hindu JAT culture \ Heritage \ Saanskaar” is of NO EXCUSE.[/

Dear All,

I think Niti has conceded her point and has agreed to great extend with the views expressed by members. We should not flog this issue further. May be what she worte initially, was due to her enthusiasm in the new family that she has joined.

If we continue to criticize any member even after he/she has agreed with others, then that will demoralize the members and they will be shy of expressing their views freely.
